Position Summary

The Chattanooga Red Wolves Academy is seeking a creative and motivated Social Media Intern to help capture and showcase the Academy experience. This role will focus on creating engaging photo and video content during evening training sessions, games, tournaments, and weekend events. The intern will work closely with the Academy staff to highlight players, coaches, teams, and the culture of the Chattanooga Red Wolves Academy across social media platforms. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in sports media, content creation, photography, videography, or digital marketing to gain hands-on experience in a professional soccer environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capture high-quality photo and video content during evening practices, games, tournaments, and weekend events.
  • Create short-form video content for Instagram, TikTok, and other social media platforms.
  • Photograph players, coaches, teams, training sessions, and Academy events.
  • Assist with behind-the-scenes and day-to-day Academy content.
  • Help develop creative content ideas that increase engagement and showcase the Academy.
  • Organize and maintain photo and video files for future use.
  • Collaborate with coaching and administrative staff to identify important moments and stories to capture.
  • Assist with posting, scheduling, and managing social media content when needed.
  • Stay current with social media trends and identify opportunities to increase the Academy's digital presence.
  • Represent the Chattanooga Red Wolves Academy professionally while working with players, families, coaches, and staff.

Role Expectations


The Social Media Intern is expected to be reliable, creative, professional, and proactive while representing the Chattanooga Red Wolves Academy. This role requires a strong commitment to capturing the Academy’s players, coaches, teams, and overall experience through engaging digital content.

  • Weekly In-Person Meeting: Attend one scheduled in-person meeting each week with Academy staff to review upcoming events, content priorities, creative ideas, and responsibilities.
  • Evening & Weekend Availability: Be available to attend select evening training sessions, games, tournaments, and weekend events to capture content.
  • Consistent Content Creation: Regularly capture and deliver high-quality photos, videos, and social media content.
  • Professionalism: Represent the Chattanooga Red Wolves Academy positively when interacting with players, families, coaches, staff, and the community.
  • Reliability: Arrive on time and prepared for assigned practices, games, events, and meetings.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and timely communication with Academy staff regarding schedules, assignments, and content needs.
  • Creativity: Bring new ideas, trends, and concepts to help grow the Academy’s social media presence and engagement.
  • Organization: Properly organize, label, and store photo and video content so it can be easily accessed and used by the Academy.
  • Player & Family Privacy: Follow all Academy policies regarding photography, video, player information, and appropriate use of social media.
  • Growth Mindset: Be open to feedback, learn from Academy staff, and continuously improve photography, videography, editing, storytelling, and social media skills.
  • Commitment: Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and contribute consistently throughout the internship.

Qualifications

  • Seeking degree related to position
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Deep understanding of social media and ways to improve the impact of the academy's online presence
  • Ability to create and capture content for social media. 
  • Background in high-performing sports environments
  • Familiarity with the US youth soccer landscape
