TBU is looking for a Grant Writing Specialist/ Coordinator (non -paid intern role) to come aboard the team.
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in English (both written and spoken)
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work remotely and independently
  • Attention to detail and excellent editing skills
  • Experience as a member of a nonprofit organization is preferred but not required
  • Collaboration with diverse teams on project progression

  •  If you are interested in an internship for School credit, then you will need to follow the required hours specified by your school’s credit requirements (typically 5-27 hours a week)
  • If you're not interested in an internship for school credit, it will depend on the project you take on
  • All that is required is a Windows or Mac Laptop or Desktop computer with a stable internet connection

Responsibilities

  • Grant Writers are professionals who create application documents and proposals for grant programs
  • They organize information about organizational activities and projects and draft grant proposals in appropriate formats
  • They are expected to be familiar with the grant application process and effectively communicate the value and needs of the program in persuasive writing
  • The Grant Specialist Intern will work under the direct supervision of the organization's executive leadership team
  • Responsibilities include providing specialized and complex administrative support; a collection of data; and client and program assistance related to the grant programs funded at the federal, state, and local levels
  • Work involves considerable contact with City departments and representatives of the general public, governmental agencies and their representatives, and community or civic organizations
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive grant program to support various operations, including investigation of available grant monies, preparation of grant documents, grant writing grant-writing assistance
  • Manage referral process and maintain accurate, up-to-date, detailed records for referrals, applications, field notes, and missing documentation
  • Conducts research of available government and private foundation grants, and disseminates grant information regarding availability to appropriate agencies, departments and units
  • Coordinates, assists with, and writes grant applications, proposals, as needed
  • Coordinates and secures cooperative efforts from other governmental agencies and their representatives, and community or civic organizations
  • Plans, researches, and coordinates grant funding opportunities related to departmental operations
  • Establishes and maintains official electronic files for funding applications and award management within assigned systems
  • Work with staff members to transform programs and program ideas into viable applications
  • Attention to detail, editing text, and looking over applications for grammar, spelling, and content before submission
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Work on monthly social media campaigns with the other Grant Specialists/internal marketing and business development team to ensure proper representation and exposure for the non-profit
