Job Title:  Youth Soccer Coach
Classification: Independent Contractor

Position Summary:
The Tampa Bay Sun Foundation is seeking a self-motivated and experienced Youth Soccer Coach to provide high-quality soccer instruction and mentorship for players ages 6–14 in both recreational and competitive settings.

Ideal candidates hold a U.S. Soccer Grassroots Coaching License (minimum) and have prior experience working with youth athletes. As a youth coach, you will be responsible for planning and delivering training sessions in alignment with the Foundation’s philosophy while maintaining a professional, positive, and safe environment for players.

Scope of Work / Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate youth soccer practices, clinics, and camps across various skill levels
  • Independently plan and deliver age-appropriate, engaging training sessions aligned with the Tampa Bay Sun Foundation’s methodology.
  • Create a welcoming, inclusive, and developmentally focused environment for all participants.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with players, families, and program staff.
  • Provide constructive feedback to individuals and groups to foster player growth.
  • Represent the Tampa Bay Sun Foundation positively during events and community appearances.
  • Participate in seasonal planning discussions and team meetings as needed.

Qualifications:
  • U.S. Soccer Grassroots License (7v7, 9v9, or 11v11) required; higher coaching certifications a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching youth (ages 6–14) in either recreational or competitive soccer programs.
  • Deep understanding of youth development and age-appropriate coaching strategies.
  • Proven ability to manage groups of children in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Availability to work evenings and/or weekends based on program schedules.
  • Must pass applicable background checks and meet local youth coaching compliance standards.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with a wide range of ages and skill levels
  • CPR/First Aid certified
  • Multilingual abilities (preferred, not required)

Working Conditions & Expectations:
  • This is a 1099 independent contractor role with flexible, event-based scheduling.
  • Work may involve physical activity, including field setup and breakdown.
  • Local travel within the Tampa Bay area may be required.
  • Contractors must provide their own transportation and equipment unless otherwise agreed.
