Job Title: Scouting and Video Analyst (On-Site Preferred, Remote Considered)

The Scouting and Video Analyst will play a critical role in supporting Tampa Bay Sun FC’s technical staff by providing high-quality performance analysis, opposition scouting, and data-driven insights. This role involves detailed video analysis, player evaluation, and strategic reporting to enhance team preparation, recruitment decisions, and match performance.

Core Responsibilities:
Pre-Game Scouting
  • Analyze recent opponent matches using video analysis software (e.g., Sportscode, Spiideo).
  • Code key tactical events and patterns, identify opposition strengths, weaknesses, and tendencies.
  • Produce concise opposition reports supported by curated video clips and data insights.
  •  Contribute to opposition database development to track team and player trends across the season.
Scouting & Recruitment Analysis
  • Evaluate potential player signings through video and data analysis, providing performance comparisons and suitability assessments.
  • Maintain and update a scouting database integrating both objective performance metrics and subjective assessments.
  • Produce player dossiers including technical, tactical, and physical profiles aligned with club philosophy and positional requirements.
  • Collaborate with recruitment and coaching staff to align scouting outputs with tactical and developmental needs.
  • Track emerging talent and opposition player performance trends across leagues and competitions.
 In-Game Responsibilities
  •  Deliver real-time coding and live insights during games.
  • Prepare halftime video and data summaries to support in-game tactical adjustments.
  • Capture key match moments for immediate feedback to coaching staff.
 Match Support
  • Conduct video analysis sessions and one-on-one coaching to enhance striker performance and decision-making.
  •  Track player progression with performance metrics and provide actionable feedback.
  •  Set Piece Coordination
  •  Assist or lead attacking set piece routines, including free kicks, corners, and penalty kick preparation.
  •  Train forwards in positioning and execution during set pieces.
Post-Match Analysis
  • Compile multi-angle game footage (e.g., Spiideo, broadcast feeds) and upload to platforms such as HUDL.
  • Produce detailed post-match reports highlighting team and individual performance.
  •  Deliver debrief presentations supported by video and statistical evidence.
KPI Reporting
  • Track and update team and positional performance metrics.
  •  Conduct targeted coding for specific key performance indicators (KPIs).
  •  Generate weekly analytical summaries for staff and players.
Individual Player Analysis
  • Provide tailored video and data breakdowns on request.
  •  Create custom coding windows to highlight specific technical or tactical elements.
  •  Support player development through individualized performance reviews and feedback sessions.
Video Compilations
  • Assemble highlight and review packages for team meetings, opposition previews, and player development purposes.
  •  Curate thematic videos (e.g., build-up play, defensive transitions) for coaching use.
Training Analysis
  • Record and code training sessions (on-site preferred; remote support considered).
  • Tag key actions, assess session objectives, and provide feedback to coaches and players.
Systems & Workflow Development
  • Design and maintain customized Sportscode coding and output windows.
  •  Manage HUDL and other video-sharing platforms.
  •  Integrate multiple data and video sources into long-term performance databases to support trend analysis and strategic planning.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience in video and performance analysis within sport, ideally football/soccer.
  • Proficiency with Sportscode, Spiideo, HUDL, and other performance analysis software.
  • Strong tactical knowledge; coaching certifications or equivalent experience are highly valued.
  • Ability to synthesize video and data into clear, actionable insights for staff and players.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; capable of working independently and effectively in live match environments.
  • Flexible availability for match days and training sessions, with preference for on-site presence but open to remote arrangements.
