Position Summary
Tampa Bay Sun FC is seeking a full-time Professional Scout to support player identification, evaluation, and recruitment for the club’s women’s professional team. The role requires strong national and international market awareness, established relationships across the women’s soccer ecosystem, and the ability to deliver clear, objective scouting evaluations aligned with the club’s sporting philosophy.
This position reports directly to the General Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, scout, and evaluate players at the collegiate, professional, and international levels.
- Conduct live and video scouting across domestic and international competitions.
- Produce detailed scouting reports and player evaluations.
- Assess players’ technical, tactical, physical, and psychological attributes.
- Maintain relationships with college coaches, professional clubs, agents, and player representatives.
- Monitor national and international player markets, talent trends, and availability.
- Collaborate with the Head of Scouting on coverage priorities and player shortlists.
- Provide market insight and player evaluations to support roster planning.
- Maintain organized scouting databases and evaluation records.
- Support the development of scouting processes and reporting standards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of professional scouting experience in women’s soccer (collegiate, professional, and/or international).
- Strong domestic network within women’s soccer.
- Demonstrated international scouting exposure or experience.
- Proven ability to evaluate players across multiple competitive levels.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively.
- Ability to work full-time from Tampa, Florida.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within a professional soccer club environment.
- International player network and recruitment exposure.
- Familiarity with scouting platforms, video analysis tools, and player databases.
- Background as a player, coach, or technical staff member.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Frequent travel required, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to attend live matches and training sessions.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
