Position Summary
The Manager, Events and Match Operations owns the planning, structure, and operational oversight of all game operations, club events, and facility and stadium rentals. This role acts as the central operator responsible for translating strategy into execution, ensuring all events, including Match Day, are structured, staffed, and delivered at a high standard. The Manager supports the Director of Operational Strategy on long-term planning and revenue opportunities while maintaining ownership of day-to-day operational design and delivery.

Position Summary
The Manager, Events and Match Operations owns the planning, structure, and operational oversight of all game operations, club events, and facility and stadium rentals. This role acts as the central operator responsible for translating strategy into execution, ensuring all events, including Match Day, are structured, staffed, and delivered at a high standard. The Manager supports the Director of Operational Strategy on long-term planning and revenue opportunities while maintaining ownership of day-to-day operational design and delivery.
Game Operations & Execution
- Operational Planning: Own the operational planning and structure of all match day operations.
- Competition Management: Build and control competition timelines, runs of show, and matchday workflows.
- Standard Setting: Set operational standards and expectations across all departments to ensure readiness and clarity.
- Staffing Oversight: Oversee staffing structure, delegation, and accountability across matchday roles.
- Performance Evaluation: Maintain ownership of matchday delivery and implement improvements to match flow, presentation, and efficiency.
Club Events & Fan Experience
- Event Oversight: Own the planning, structure, and oversight of all club-hosted events.
- Activation Lawn Standards: Own the layout, functional design, and quality standards for the activation lawn to maximize fan engagement.
- F&B Vendor Management: Direct the operational oversight of food and beverage vendors, ensuring seamless integration into the event footprint and high service delivery.
- Logistics & Planning: Define event plans, layouts, staffing models, and vendor strategy.
- Quality Control: Establish standards for consistency and quality across all events, overseeing execution through staff and vendors.
Guest Services Program & Staffing
- Program Leadership: Lead the development and internalization of the Guest Services program, moving from external vendors to an internal operation.
- Staffing Model: Build and implement the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding process for all part-time guest services and event staff.
- Training & Development: Create and execute comprehensive training protocols focused on venue safety, service excellence, and brand standards.
- Team Management: Provide direct oversight of the Guest Services team, managing scheduling, payroll, and performance evaluations.
- Fan Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for fan inquiries and feedback, ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction.
Club Events & Strategy
- Event Oversight: Own the planning, structure, and oversight of all club-hosted events.
- Concept Development: Develop and implement event concepts that drive fan engagement and revenue.
- Logistics & Planning: Define event plans, layouts, staffing models, and vendor strategy.
- Cross-Departmental Alignment: Lead coordination across departments to align events with business goals.
- Quality Control: Establish standards for consistency
Facility & Stadium Rentals
- Rental Execution: Lead operational planning and execution of all rental events.
- Strategy & Growth: Partner with the Director on the development of rental strategy, pricing, and growth opportunities.
- Scalable Frameworks: Build scalable SOPs, staffing models, and execution frameworks to ensure rentals are a reliable revenue stream.
Operations, Systems & Leadership
- System Development: Own the development of operational systems, standardizing workflows, tools, and planning processes.
- Process Automation: Build structures that reduce reliance on manual execution and establish accountability across staff and vendors.
- On-Site Leadership: Oversee on-site operations across all events, directing execution through staff and department leads.
- Critical Decision Making: Maintain accountability for overall delivery and serve as the escalation point for critical decisions.
Guest Services Integration
- Internalization: Lead the transition of Guest Services from an external vendor to an internal operation.
- Structural Design: Build and implement the staffing model, workflows, and training protocols for Guest Services.
- Team Management: Oversee the hiring, onboarding, and management of Guest Services staff.
- Fan Experience: Ensure alignment between Guest Services, Security, and Operations to improve service delivery and fan experience.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Event Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Experience: 3–5 years of progressive experience in event coordination or management, preferably within professional sports or live event environments.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and event management tools.
- Schedule: Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds as needed for event setup.
