Position Summary
The Grassroots Marketing Manager will lead all local, fan-facing marketing efforts designed to drive ticket sales growth, expand brand visibility, and deepen the community connection to Tampa Bay Sun FC.
This role blends sales-driven activation, event marketing, and community engagement into one mission: bring the Sun to the people and convert passion into attendance. The ideal candidate thrives in the field, builds genuine relationships, and approaches every initiative with creativity, accountability, and purpose.
Key Responsibilities
Sales-Focused Community Outreach
- Develop and execute a grassroots marketing calendar that directly supports ticket sales objectives across single-match, group, and membership campaigns.
- Identify high-yield community events, youth clubs, and local organizations for presence and lead generation opportunities.
- Execute promotional pop-ups and street team activations to drive brand awareness and collect leads for ticketing campaigns.
- Collaborate with the Ticketing Department to convert leads into sales through digital follow-up, CRM integration, and community-driven offers.
Brand Visibility & Local Marketing
- Partner with local businesses, schools, and cultural organizations to build visibility and excitement around upcoming matches.
- Manage the Tampa Bay Sun street team and oversee activation logistics, including setup, staffing, and brand presentation.
- Distribute promotional materials, manage local signage campaigns, and identify new placements that maximize visibility in key neighborhoods.
- Collaborate with the creative and content teams to localize messaging, create photo opportunities, and bring the Sun brand to life in community settings.
Matchday Marketing & Programming
- Coordinate matchday marketing elements, including fan zone activations, sponsor engagements, and promotional giveaways.
- Oversee street team operations on game days, ensuring all activations are executed efficiently and drive measurable engagement.
- Support integration of matchday promotions with pre-match digital campaigns to enhance attendance and fan participation.
- Collaborate with Game Operations and Fan Experience teams to deliver cohesive in-stadium programming that reflects campaign goals.
Event Execution & Activation
- Lead the club’s presence at citywide events, youth tournaments, festivals, and school functions with an emphasis on lead capture and conversion.
- Plan and execute high-energy activations such as pep rallies, youth soccer partnerships, fan festivals, and watch parties.
- Serve as a visible representative of the Sun at community engagements, ensuring professionalism, energy, and alignment with brand standards.
Measurement & Reporting
- Track performance metrics for grassroots initiatives, including leads generated, ticket conversions, event attendance, and promotional reach.
- Provide weekly reports summarizing ROI, fan engagement, and conversion outcomes from grassroots activations.
- Continuously refine strategy to maximize lead efficiency and local marketing ROI.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in grassroots, event, or field marketing, preferably within sports or entertainment.
- Proven track record of driving ticket or product sales through local marketing and activations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a talent for relationship building and community connection.
- Organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities with attention to detail.
- Comfortable working evenings, weekends, and event days.
- Deep understanding of the Tampa Bay market and passion for growing women’s sports.
