Position Title: Community Impact for Nonprofit Intern
 Organization: Tampa Bay Sun Foundation
 Term: 2025/2026 Season (with potential extension through playoffs)
Compensation: College credit eligible + stipend for hours worked beyond academic requirements

Tampa Bay Sun Foundation, the charitable arm of Tampa Bay Sun FC is committed to building excellence on the field and making a meaningful impact off of it. Through our community initiatives, we aim to uplift and engage the greater Tampa Bay area through outreach, education, and empowerment.

Position Overview:
We are seeking passionate and service-oriented individuals to join our team as Community Impact Interns for the 20245/2026 season. This internship offers hands-on experience in community engagement, nonprofit operations, and event planning as part of Tampa Bay Sun Foundation commitment to making a difference.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the planning and execution of community events, outreach programs, and nonprofit initiatives
  • Assist in coordinating player and staff appearances at local schools, community centers, and charity events
  • Help maintain partnerships with local organizations, schools, and foundations
  • Contribute to the creation and delivery of community-focused content for social media and internal reports
  • Track and report impact metrics, including attendance, engagement, and participant feedback
  • Assist with matchday community initiatives such as recognition programs and fundraising activations
  • Represent Tampa Bay Sun FC with professionalism and enthusiasm at all community events
  • Youth Clinic Assistance: Support the execution of youth soccer clinics by assisting with participant check-in, setting up and breaking down event materials (tents, tables), preparing swag bags, and optionally helping with on-field soccer stations.
  • Matchday Assistance: Assist with match day operations by managing the booth, distributing information, and supporting the setup and breakdown of fan engagement experiences as needed.
 
Qualifications:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Energetic, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Passion for sports, community service, and social impact
  • Must be available to work some nights and weekends, especially during matchdays or community events
  • Bilingual skills (especially Spanish) are a plus, but not required

WHAT'S IT LIKE?
First, it's a lot of fun... sports are fun! They're also a lot of work. We'll point you in the right direction, and you'll be given a lot of responsibility and you'll own your area. You'll help build amazing events for our community. You'll make great connections and learn a lot about the sports business.   
 
Let's talk about the time commitment. Depending on the role, it may require more than eight hours of work in a given day, particularly event days. All interns work every home game.  Depending on the role, you may have some non-game day hours (some remote), and you may cover training sessions (as needed).
 
These internships are best suited for students who can get college credit and/or who are looking to get their foot in the door in the extremely competitive sports industry.
