Merchandise Manager
The Merchandise Manager oversees all aspects of retail merchandise operations for Dallas Trinity FC, both online and in-stadium. This role is responsible for product selection, inventory management, pricing strategy, vendor relations, and driving revenue through innovative merchandise initiatives that align with the team’s brand and fanbase.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and execute all retail operations, including policies, procedures, inventory, and accounting for on-site, off-site, non-game day, and online sales.
- Order all retail products (jerseys, headwear, novelties, apparel, etc.) for the Team Store.
- Receive and reconcile all incoming inventory (including physical counts) and distribute through the P.O.S. system.
- Stock and set up all retail locations prior to each game or event.
- Become an expert in the Team’s P.O.S. system.
- Manage end-of-day closeout for retail locations, including cash reconciliation, P.O.S. reports, or inventory spreadsheets for non-P.O.S. locations.
- Conduct monthly physical counts of all inventories, including storage.
- Maintain vendor files, including purchase orders and invoices.
- Approve all merchandise payables.
- Track all inventory sold at a discount, including discount coding and reason for discount.
- Track all comped merchandise through the P.O.S. system, noting the requester and intended use (e.g., community relations, business development, etc.).
- Track merchandise sales tied to promotions, ticket packages, birthday parties, family days, etc.
- Hire, supervise, and train part-time merchandise employees.
- Prepare master merchandise employee schedule prior to each home stand.
- Perform other duties as assigned, particularly in the off-season, based on skill set.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of retail experience, with at least 2 years in a management role.
- Professional sports experience in a high-volume retail operation strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of retail sales and management principles.
- Successful track record of meeting sales goals, showing creativity, and taking initiative.
