Job Overview
The Video Analyst/ Assistant Coach will analyze opponent footage, present findings to the coaching staff and team, and evaluate team performance during games and training sessions to support the development of the team’s game model. This role will also assist the coaching staff with field setup, running drills, and organizing training sessions. This is an unpaid position.
Key Responsibilities:
Match & Training Analysis
- Analyze match and training footage using video analysis software.
- Provide post-match video breakdowns for the team and individual players.
- Identify tactical trends, strengths, and weaknesses.
- Create and maintain a video library for future reference.
- Set up video equipment to ensure proper filming of matches and training sessions.
Opposition Scouting
- Conduct a detailed analysis of upcoming opponents, including playing style, patterns, and set-piece tendencies.
- Prepare video presentations for coaching staff and players.
- Player Development Support
- Create individual player clips and feedback packages to support development.
- Track player progress over time using video and data metrics.
Assistant Coach Support
- Assist with field setup (moving goals, setting up cones, mannequins, etc.).
- Lead high-level, detail-oriented drills aligned with the team’s game model.
- Collaborate with coaching staff to develop coaching knowledge and tools.
- Run position-specific exercises connected to Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
Qualifications
- USSF C, UEFA C License, or commensurate experience.
- Experience in soccer video analysis (academy, collegiate, semi-professional, or professional level).
- Proficiency with video analysis platforms such as Spiideo, Veo, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of soccer tactics, team structure, and match dynamics.
- Ability to communicate insights effectively to coaches and players.
Preferred Skills
- Proficiency with office tools (Excel, Numbers, Keynote, PowerPoint).
- Ability to show professionalism in all aspects.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment.
