DIRECTOR OF MARKETING: OVERVIEW
The Director of Marketing owns and leads the Club’s marketing strategy, translating vision into execution across campaigns, channels, and seasons. This role is focused on driving measurable results through paid media and growth marketing while ensuring creative storytelling and brand expression remain aligned and effective.
This position works in close collaboration with the VP of Marketing and the Creative Studio Lead and partners closely with ticketing and revenue teams to support ticket sales, memberships, and major organizational initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
● Own and lead the day-to-day marketing strategy aligned to organizational and revenue goals.
● Translate the VP of Marketing’s vision into clear plans, priorities, and execution.
● Partner closely with the Creative Studio Lead to align creative direction, messaging, and media strategy.
● Lead paid media strategy across digital channels including social, search, display, and video.
● Manage paid media budgets, pacing, and performance with a focus on efficiency and results.
● Build and execute full-funnel strategies that support awareness, consideration, and conversion.
● Establish clear marketing metrics and reporting standards across campaigns and channels.
● Build and maintain reporting that communicates performance, insights, and recommended actions.
● Partner with ticketing and revenue teams to support ticket sales, memberships, and key moments.
● Lead campaign planning and execution across paid, owned, and earned channels.
● Own seasonal planning, campaign roadmaps, and marketing calendars.
● Manage agency and vendor partners as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience
● Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
● 7–10+ years of marketing experience with demonstrated leadership responsibility.
Skills & Capabilities
● Strong hands-on experience in paid media and performance marketing.
● Proven ability to manage budgets and interpret performance data.
● Experience building and scaling full-funnel marketing strategies.
● Strong understanding of brand, creative, and storytelling principles.
● Ability to collaborate across creative, revenue, and cross-functional teams.
WORKING CONDITIONS
● Position based in Sacramento, in office five days per week.
● Occasional evening, weekend, or event-related work may be required.
