The Richmond Kickers, a USL League One professional soccer team in Richmond, VA, is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic professional for the role of Assistant Coach. This role reports directly to the Head Coach and is responsible for the development of training, coaching professional players, video analysis, application of tracking technology, scouting, and supporting the Head Coach in all parts of the professional soccer environment.
Essential Coaching Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design and execute daily training sessions in conjunction with the Head Coach
- Responsible for the management and coaching of players during games as directed by the Head Coach
- Perform video analysis to improve individual and team performance
- Administer and maintain the use of StatsSports tracking technology or similar technology
- Create Individual Development Plans for players as needed within the professional environment
- Collaborate with and assist other staff members with the Richmond Kickers
- Be involved in the talent identification process for the Richmond Kickers
- Ability to travel extensively and work varied hours in a professional sports environment
- Participate in club events as directed by the Head Coach
Required skills, Experience, & Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Minimum USSF B License. USSF A Youth License or foreign equivalent preferred
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Additional expertise and experience in areas of professional soccer (for example
Education, Psychology, Sports Performance, Video Analysis)
- Ability to work as part of a team in a high performance environment
- High level of commitment to leading people with character as a model and in daily practice
- Commitment to organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
- Experience of working in a high performance soccer environment preferred
