Company Background

The Reno 1868 Football Club, top affiliate of the San Jose Earthquakes, and the Reno Aces, Triple-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, are Northern Nevada’s premier professional sports organizations located at Greater Nevada Field in the heart of downtown Reno. Greater Nevada Field is also home to the Freight House District, a one-of-a-kind four-venue restaurant and entertainment venue, Slaughterhouse, the area’s largest haunted house, and Winterfest, featuring holiday-themed activities in the wintertime, among other various Special Events. Internship Summary

The Communications Internship will primarily focus on communications efforts of Reno 1868 FC. The intern will work closely under the supervision of the PR/Communications manager and assist in day-to-day communications projects.

Intern Responsibilities

Fulfill tasks set out by supervisor
Assist communications manager in creating and sending out content for local news outlets including transcribing weekly quote sheets, gathering video at media avail abilities, and managing the club’s photo archive
Assist in production of game day items including stat packs and game notes
Contribute to production of player bios and media guide

Qualifications

Current college student or recent graduate with an interest in journalism, communications, marketing or related field
Strong attention to detail and understanding of AP style
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including game days (primarily Saturday nights)
Familiarity with the Adobe suite preferred
Strong understanding of soccer a plus

Flexible schedule to work around classes and exams

This is an unpaid internship with a flexible schedule. The duration of the internship is flexible based on college coursework. We are open to spring, summer, and fall internships.
