Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC has been Pittsburgh's premier professional soccer team since its inception in 1999, competing in the United Soccer League (USL), one of the largest and fastest-growing professional soccer organizations in North America. The Riverhounds were crowned 2025 USL Champions, highlighting their success on the field.
In 2024, the organization introduced the Pittsburgh Riveters, a women's soccer team competing in the USL W League. The Riveters began their inaugural season in May 2025 and finished as Division Champions, marking an impressive debut for the club.
Together, the Riverhounds and Riveters provide exciting, family-friendly soccer entertainment, promote the growth of the game in the region, and create memorable experiences for fans across Pittsburgh. The teams play at Highmark Stadium and the AHN Montour Junction Sports Complex, offering top-tier venues for professional soccer in the city.

Job Description
The Mascot Performer supports the Pittsburgh Riverhounds and Riveters game-day and community entertainment efforts by bringing energy, personality, and strong nonverbal performance to fan interactions. This role helps create a fun, engaging, and family-friendly atmosphere at matches and appearances.
The Mascot Performer also serves as a member of the Hype Squad and assists with fan engagement and promotional activities as needed. This position reports directly to the Community & Mascot Engagement Manager, as well as the Director of Promotions and Entertainment within the Riverhounds Marketing team.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform as the Riverhounds and Riveters mascot during games, events, and appearances when assigned.
  • Use strong nonverbal communication, body language, and physical performance to engage fans of all ages.
  • Maintain character and professionalism at all times while in costume.
  • Support Hype Squad activities, including fan engagement, promotions, and in-stadium activations.
  • Assist with community appearances, special events, and promotional initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with marketing, events, and entertainment staff to support overall game-day execution.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, live-event environment.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and game days.
    Operate on the understanding that “too much” is actually the baseline expectation for this role.
  • Willingness to work outdoors and stand or move for extended periods.
  • Ability to safely perform physical activity while wearing a mascot costume.
  • Previous mascot or performance experience preferred but not required.
