Phoenix Rising FC is seeking a creative and eager junior graphic design intern to support our design team and gain hands-on experience in professional sports branding. Under the guidance of our senior graphic designer, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful design projects across print, digital, and in-game mediums in a fast-paced sports environment.
The ideal candidate has strong foundational design skills, sharp attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and a team-first attitude.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work closely with the senior graphic designer to support the club's visual identity and brand consistency across all creative projects
- Assist in the production of social media graphics, advertising assets, print materials, in-game content, photo retouching, and team merchandise
- Update gameday templates, banners, ads, and emails following established brand guidelines
- Support the development of graphic packages for marquee events, marketing initiatives, and content programming
- Provide design support for events including invitations, signage, and credentials
- Participate in brainstorming and conceptual development across multiple projects simultaneously
- Assist with merchandise concepts and design direction under senior designer supervision
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
- Strong design aesthetic with awareness of current trends across digital and print mediums
- Ability to work within brand guidelines while bringing fresh creative ideas
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet tight deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Portfolio required — PDF or online portfolio link (online strongly preferred)
Preferences
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a graphic design, visual communication, or related program
- Some coursework or internship experience in graphic design
- Previous experience with a professional sports team or sports-related organization
- Passion for sports; soccer knowledge a plus
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings/weekends for match days and events
Schedule & Location
- 15–20 hours per week
- 2–3 weekdays per week (schedule is flexible)
- Must be available Saturdays for home match days
- Must reside in the Phoenix, AZ area — this is a requirement for consideration
