The Merchandise Coordinator supports all retail and merchandise operations for Orange County Soccer Club, coordinating online sales, game day team shop operations, and customer service. This role leads order fulfillment and inventory accuracy across online shipping and stadium pickup, assists with pre-game inventory preparation, and serves as the game day team shop lead, ensuring an excellent fan experience through strong leadership and service standards. The coordinator manages and updates the club’s Shopify store, collaborates with marketing on product launches and photo shoots, monitors retail and licensing trends, and supports merchandise initiatives as needed to maximize performance and brand consistency.

Job Responsibilities

·        Lead all online merchandise distribution, including processing orders for shipping and stadium pickup while maintaining accurate inventory levels.

·        Support pre-game preparation by allocating inventory and ensuring merchandise is organized and ready for game day operations.

·        Serve as the Game Day Team Shop Lead, overseeing setup and takedown of team shop locations while delivering excellent customer service and on-site leadership.

·        Assist in training game day staff on customer service expectations, retail standards, and established policies and procedures.

·        Oversee customer service operations by monitoring and responding to merchandise-related inquiries in a friendly, professional, and timely manner.

·        Maintain and update the club’s Shopify store, including product listings, pricing, descriptions, collections, and inventory levels.

·        Monitor retail, merchandising, and licensing trends to identify opportunities that maximize sales performance and fan engagement.

·        Coordinate with the marketing team on product launches, promotions, and photo shoots for new merchandise.

·        Provide administrative and operational support for merchandise initiatives, promotions, and special projects.

·        Assist with additional merchandise-related tasks and projects as needed to support overall retail operations.

Qualifications

·        Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, sports management, or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.

·        2–4 years of experience in retail, ecommerce, merchandise operations, or customer service, preferably in sports or live events.

·        Experience working with ecommerce platforms such as Shopify, including product setup, inventory management, and order processing.

·        Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

·        Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.

·        Ability to work game days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the team schedule.

·        Comfortable providing on-site support and direction to part-time or game day staff.

·        Basic understanding of retail merchandising, inventory control, and point-of-sale systems.

·        Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including marketing and operations.

·        Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; experience with inventory or retail software a plus.

·        Attention to detail with a proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving.

·        Passion for sports and delivering a high-quality fan experience preferred.

  • Pay Rate -  $19 to $23 an hour
  • This position is Hybrid, with at least two days in office plus game days. OCSC is located in Irvine, CA
