Do you love soccer, having fun, and entertaining fans? Orange County SC is looking for a mascot for the 2026 season. As GNARLY, the mascots must interact well with children, be animated, and most importantly, love to have fun.
Being positioned in a major market, the mascot will be making hundreds of appearances during a calendar year and has a high profile in the community. From home games to various charitable, sponsor, personal, and media appearances. You must keep a positive attitude, be in good health, and able to sustain long periods of time in the heat. Orange County SC is seeking employee(s) that want a fun part time job, which includes Weekdays, Weekends, and some Holidays.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Be the lead mascot performer for home games and around 100+ outside appearances in the greater community
- Develop programs and seek event appearances to grow the mascots positive presence in the community as an extension of the Team's brand
- Continue existing programs and annual appearances where the mascot's presence is eagerly anticipated
- Develop and continue revenue-producing mascot opportunities like in-seat visits, holiday deliveries, etc.
- Develop creative and engaging in-game skits and crowd interactions
- Maintain mascot costumes, accessories, and props in top condition through regular washing and repairs
- Participate in regular departmental meetings, full staff meetings, and all game day staff meetings
- Assist with team functions – outside of the mascot suit – as is occasionally necessary
- Work cooperatively with the Street Team Manager and Sales Team for various community and media appearances
QUALIFICATIONS
- Physical ability to perform in a mascot costume on a regular basis during home games, outside appearances, and video/photo shoots Experience as a mascot performer preferred
- Experience as an actor, dancer, martial artist, acrobat, or stunt artist is a plus
- Extremely organized and detail oriented, resourceful, quick learner, and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Self-starter that’s motivated to perform at a high level
- Flexibility to work nights and weekends is required
- Fan-friendly and outgoing
- Must work well with children and staff members at events
- Creative, ambitious, energetic personality with the ability to motivate others
- Ideal candidate should be in good physical condition and highly energetic
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Candidate height requirement for this position over 5'6”
