About One Knoxville SC
One Knoxville SC is a professional soccer club that is in love with Knoxville, TN. We compete in USL League One and exist to build a more dynamic, more united, more prideful future for our City. In addition to our Men’s professional side, we have a women’s first team competing in USL W League, 1,600 Knoxville kids in our youth soccer club, and 2,000+ Knoxville adults competing in our Adult Rec Leagues. We are using soccer to create WINNING experiences for families, fans, and Knoxville.

We are looking for a senior marketing leader who can join us to be our expert on building community, telling our story, and more effectively inviting Knoxville out to support One Knox.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTION
The Vice President of Marketing provides executive leadership, direction, and oversight of the team’s marketing and brand strategy. This role manages all aspects of fan engagement, promotions, advertising, digital content, and community-focused marketing programs. The Vice President of Marketing plays a critical role in driving revenue, enhancing the game-day experience, and building long-term brand equity for the professional sports team.
FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Brand & Marketing Strategy
- Develop and oversee a comprehensive marketing plan that strengthens brand awareness, trial, and growth.
- Ensure consistent and compelling messaging across all marketing channels.
- Identify and act on emerging trends in sports marketing, digital engagement, and fan experiences.
- Fan Engagement
- Oversee social media, video content, and storytelling that deepens fan relationships.
- Enhance in-venue and virtual experiences to maximize fan enjoyment and participation.
- Revenue Support
- Create targeted campaigns that support ticket sales, merchandise sales, and sponsorship activations.
- Collaborate with sales teams to maximize cross-promotional opportunities.
- Evaluate campaign performance and adapt strategies to achieve measurable results.
- Game-Day & Event Presentation
- Direct all game-day marketing and presentation elements, including promotions, entertainment, and special events.
- Coordinate theme nights, community engagement games, and sponsor-driven activations.
- Partner with operations and communications staff to ensure seamless execution.
- Administration
- Ensure compliance with league policies, media rights guidelines, and advertising regulations.
- Manage marketing budgets, forecasts, and reporting.
- Maintain marketing systems, software, and data platforms for analytics and fan engagement.
- Prepare regular reports for executive leadership on marketing impact and brand and revenue outcomes.
- Lead and develop creative content team of three (Marketing Manager, Graphic Designer, Photographer/Videographer)
- Development
- Recommend and implement innovative strategies, technologies, and tools to strengthen marketing effectiveness.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in sports marketing and digital fan engagement.
- Support ongoing brand evolution to remain competitive in the professional sports marketplace.
- Plan and oversee professional development programs for the marketing staff
- Build strong community partnerships and collaborations that enhance brand goodwill.
- Develop and deliver programs that highlight the team’s impact through charitable and outreach initiatives.
- Promote fan loyalty and community pride through grassroots marketing and local engagement.
- Serve as a visible ambassador of the organization at events and community functions.
OTHER
- Remain in compliance with organizational policies, league regulations, and ethical standards.
- Represent the organization professionally in all media and public appearances.
- Other duties as assigned by executive leadership.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds for setup/teardown of activations.
- Ability to work in both office and stadium environments.
- Regular weekend and evening work is required during the season.
- Strong relationship-building and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems; strong presentation skills.
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and matchdays.
