Position Overview:
The Head Coach will lead the First Team of One Knoxville SC, guiding the club both on and off the pitch. This role requires a dynamic leader who is not only focused on winning but also on developing a strong team culture, advancing player development, and integrating the club into the local community. The Head Coach will be pivotal in setting the tone for the club’s ambitions, emphasizing growth, innovation, and community engagement.

Club Leadership
- Culture Building: Define and nurture the club’s culture, instilling values that align with One Knoxville SC’s vision. Develop a cohesive and positive team environment that fosters both individual and collective growth.
- Growth Oriented: Promote continuous improvement among players and staff. Understand the balance between immediate results and long-term development, embracing the challenges of USL League One as opportunities for growth.
- Holistic Comprehension: Demonstrate an understanding of the business aspects of USL League One and the First Team’s role in the growth of the Club.

First Team Performance
- Player Recruitment: Identify and recruit talent, focusing on untapped markets and opportunities within reach of the League One level. Build a competitive squad that aligns with the club’s strategic goals.
- Player Development: Enhance player performance through targeted coaching, sports performance programs, and mentoring. Foster an environment where players can develop, thrive, and achieve.
- Style of Play: Develop and implement a tactical approach that reflects the club’s identity. Adapt strategies to maximize team strengths and respond effectively to challenges.
- Team Management: Manage team dynamics, fostering a locker room built for growth and ensuring effective communication with and among players.
Player and Community Development
- Youth Development Integration: Collaborate with the Youth Club, which includes over 1,000 competitive players and an Academy team competing in USL Academy and UPSL. Ensure alignment between the First Team and youth development pathways.
- Community Engagement: Actively engage with the Knoxville soccer community, including the club’s 600 recreational players. Use soccer as a means to contribute positively to the local community and represent the club’s values.
- Soccer as a Force for Good: Align the First Team’s efforts with the club’s mission of using soccer as a force for good in East Tennessee. Promote community involvement and the sport’s development at all levels.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Head Coach or Assistant Coach at the professional level.
- USSF or UEFA A license
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain team culture.
- A deep understanding of player development and modern coaching methodologies.
- Ability to manage the multifaceted demands of a professional soccer club, balancing on-field success with off-field responsibilities.
- A commitment to community involvement and development, with a passion for using soccer as a tool for positive change.
