Job Description

The Sr. Vice President, Marketing and Communications is an executive level position and will manage a team that will be responsible for the outward presentation of the company’s brand. This position will lead the planning and oversight of OKC Energy FC’s marketing, advertising, communications, community relations and street team efforts. Responsibilities include the strategy, development and execution of end-to-end marketing programs, event participation, communications, community engagement, and advertising strategy that all drive brand awareness, fan development and support event revenue generation. This position will develop, shape and disseminate the market messages to a variety of audiences using various approaches and will work with other senior management team members to organize communications to a wide range of stakeholders.

The main goal of this position is to represent the brand outwardly while growing the company’s market exposure and its following. Additionally, the position will support revenue-generating departments via creation and coordination of best in class promotional activities as well as grassroots marketing opportunities to increase brand exposure in the region. It will also look to address target markets through promotions, grassroots events and other marketing vehicles by leveraging Ticket Sales, Sponsorship, Community Relations and Youth Marketing initiatives within the company to cultivate and grow its audience.

Major Responsibilities:

Deploy successful marketing campaigns and own their implementation from ideation to execution
Lead communications efforts
Oversee and drive social media enterprise
Coordinate with creative team to produce all media needs
Lead creative and strategic advertising plans
Develop departmental strategies and lead team of people
Demonstrate proactive leadership and strategic thinking
Manage email marketing campaigns, including promotional emails, presales, performance analytics
Work closely with Sales, Sponsorship, Operations, Box Office, Creative, Food & Beverage, and other departments on implementation of marketing campaigns
Lead Street Team that engages with the community and drive lead generation from the events the group participates in
Leverage CRM and digital platforms to target audiences and drive lead generation
Coordinate community activities and be able to tie them into company’s strategic initiatives
Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Positive and “can do” attitude with the ability to articulate needs, challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to solve problems and maximize brand exposure
Proven ability to successfully lead and work on numerous simultaneous initiatives

Must have a knowledge of professional soccer
Must work well with others and be an open/honest communicator
B.A. in Marketing or related field
Ability to manage to develop and manage a budget
Leadership capabilities to lead a team to accomplish the departmental goals and objectives
Keen ability to delegate responsibilities while ensuring quality execution
Minimum of five (5) years marketing/advertising or related experience
Proactive planner with a sense of urgency, creativity, style and attention to detail
Must be detail oriented and organized
Ability to clearly communicate with clients, partners and coworkers
Ability to work and think clearly under pressure
Strong computer software background
Willingness to work long or irregular hours for events
