About the Role
The New York Cosmos and New Jersey Jackals are seeking a passionate and motivated Digital Photography Intern to join our Creative & Marketing team. This internship is ideal for students interested in Photography, Visual Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, Marketing, or Fine Arts who are looking to gain real-world experience in professional sports.

As a Digital Photography Intern, you'll gain hands-on experience capturing the excitement of professional soccer and baseball through game-day photography, community events, merchandise launches, and behind-the-scenes storytelling. Working alongside our Creative team, you'll create visual content used across social media, websites, digital marketing campaigns, merchandise promotions, and team publications while building a professional sports photography portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Capture live game action during New York Cosmos and New Jersey Jackals home games
  • Photograph pregame, in-game, and postgame moments including fan experiences, player interactions, celebrations, and special events
  • Assist with photography for merchandise launches, product drops, and e-commerce campaigns
  • Capture lifestyle and promotional photography featuring new apparel, collectibles, and retail products
  • Photograph community appearances, youth programs, sponsor activations, and special events throughout the season
  • Assist with media day photography, player portraits, and promotional content shoots
  • Edit and organize photography for quick turnaround across digital and social media platforms
  • Collaborate with the Creative, Marketing, Merchandise, and Social Media teams to develop engaging visual content
  • Maintain organized photo archives and assist with asset management
  • Support creative brainstorming sessions for seasonal campaigns, theme nights, and promotional initiatives
Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Photography, Digital Media, Visual Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Fine Arts, or a related field
  • Experience using DSLR or mirrorless cameras with a strong understanding of photography fundamentals
  • Basic proficiency with Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop (or comparable editing software)
  • Strong eye for composition, lighting, storytelling, and detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working evenings, weekends, and home games as needed
  • Must provide your own camera equipment and editing laptop/software
  • Passion for sports, photography, and visual storytelling
Nice to Have
  • Experience photographing live sporting events or action photography
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Photo Mechanic, or similar workflow software
  • Experience shooting product photography and lifestyle content
  • Knowledge of social media content creation and digital storytelling
  • Experience with studio lighting or environmental portrait photography
  • Interest in sports marketing, branding, and creative production
