About the Role
The New York Cosmos and New Jersey Jackals are seeking a passionate and motivated Operations Intern to join our Stadium Operations & Events team. This internship is ideal for students interested in Sports Management, Event Management, Business, Facility Management, Hospitality, or Operations who are looking to gain real-world experience behind the scenes of professional sports and live events.

As an Operations Intern, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting game-day operations, event logistics, facility preparation, and stadium execution for both the New York Cosmos and New Jersey Jackals. You'll work alongside our Operations team to help deliver a first-class experience for fans, players, partners, and staff while learning what it takes to operate a professional sports venue hosting soccer, baseball, concerts, festivals, and community events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with game-day operations for New York Cosmos and New Jersey Jackals home events
  • Support stadium setup and breakdown, including signage, field equipment, hospitality areas, and fan spaces
  • Help coordinate event logistics for soccer matches, baseball games, concerts, festivals, and community events
  • Assist with credential distribution, staff check-in, and operational preparation before events
  • Support visiting teams, officials, vendors, sponsors, and event partners throughout event days
  • Assist with inventory management and organization of operational equipment and event supplies
  • Help prepare premium hospitality areas, VIP spaces, and sponsor activation locations
  • Collaborate with Ticketing, Merchandise, Community Relations, Marketing, and Partnerships to ensure smooth event execution
  • Assist with facility walkthroughs and operational checklists before, during, and after events
  • Help identify and resolve operational needs while maintaining a safe and positive fan experience
Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Sports Management, Event Management, Business, Hospitality, Facility Management, Operations, or a related field
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take initiative
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Availability to assist during evenings, weekends, holidays, and home games as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods
  • Passion for sports, live events, and creating exceptional fan experiences
Nice to Have
  • Previous experience working sporting events, concerts, festivals, or large-scale events
  • Experience with event setup, customer service, or facility operations
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow operational procedures
  • CPR/First Aid certification (not required)
  • Interest in pursuing a career in sports operations, venue management, or event production
