Social Media Intern

Position Overview
We are looking for a creative, energetic, and social-media-savvy intern to help grow our team's presence across social media platforms. This role is highly hands-on and will involve attending team practices, games, community events, and other team activities to capture engaging, authentic content.
The ideal candidate is someone who is constantly on social media, understands current trends, enjoys creating content, and can recognize moments that will resonate with fans and followers. You will work closely with the team to brainstorm content ideas, capture photo and video content, and help maintain a consistent and engaging social media presence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend team practices, games, community events, and team activities to capture photos, videos, behind-the-scenes moments, and other social content.
  • Create short-form content for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and X.
  • Stay up to date on current social media trends, sounds, formats, challenges, memes, and fan engagement opportunities.
  • Help plan content around games, practices, promotions, holidays, community events, player milestones, and other important dates.
  • Collaborate with staff and team members to coordinate content opportunities and ensure timely posting.
  • Capture behind-the-scenes content that gives fans an authentic look at the team.
  • Assist with basic video editing, graphic creation, captions, and other content production.
  • Monitor social media engagement and help identify content that performs well.
  • Assist with other marketing and communications projects as needed.

Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Sports Management, Digital Media, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, particularly Instagram and TikTok.
  • Creative mindset with an eye for engaging photo and video content.
  • Strong awareness of current social media trends and culture.
  • Comfortable filming content using a smartphone.
  • Basic knowledge of video editing and/or graphic design is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team.
  • Comfortable working nights, weekends, and non-traditional hours when required for practices, games, and events.
  • Positive, outgoing attitude and willingness to be around athletes, coaches, staff, fans, and community members.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to team practices, games, and events as needed.
