Team Chef – Loudoun United FC

Position Overview
Loudoun United FC is seeking a high-performance Team Chef to lead the culinary operations for our professional first team. This role is about more than just cooking; it is about fueling elite athletes to perform at their peak. You will be responsible for the design, preparation, and execution of all first-team meals, ensuring that every plate meets the rigorous nutritional standards required for professional soccer.
Working closely with our Performance and Medical staff, you will create a world-class dining environment that supports recovery, health, and team culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Menu Engineering: Design weekly menus that balance elite sports nutrition with variety and flavor, focusing on anti-inflammatory ingredients, optimal macronutrient ratios, and hydration.
- Meal Execution: Prepare and serve daily breakfast and post-training lunch for players and technical staff (approx. 35–45 people).
- Travel & Match Day: Coordinate pre-game and post-game meals for home matches and oversee catering logistics/quality control for away travel.
- Sourcing & Procurement: Manage all food inventory, ordering from local Loudoun County vendors and high-quality suppliers while maintaining a strict budget.
- Safety & Sanitation: Maintain a pristine, professional-grade kitchen environment, adhering to all Virginia health department regulations and food safety standards.
- Player Education: Act as a resource for players to help them understand how to fuel themselves away from the facility.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years of experience as a Chef in a professional sports environment (USL, MLS, NFL, etc.), high-end performance center, or private estate.
- Education: Degree from an accredited culinary school or equivalent professional apprenticeship.
- Sports Nutrition Knowledge: A deep understanding of how nutrition impacts athletic performance, inflammation, and recovery.
- Adaptability: Ability to accommodate specific dietary needs (gluten-free, vegan, allergies) and religious dietary requirements (Halal, Kosher) without sacrificing quality.
- Grit: Willingness to work the non-traditional hours of a professional sports schedule, including early mornings and weekends.
