Loudoun United FC is seeking a creative, soccer-obsessed, digitally fluent Social Media Intern to join our content team for the 2026 season. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and built for someone who wants real experience in professional sports marketing.
This position will play an important role in supporting the content team, working closely to support social media and content creation needs while gaining hands-on experience capturing the excitement of our club and its programs. This highly collaborative position reports to the Digital Marketing Specialist, and works closely across both soccer and business operations. You’ll help bring our brand to life across Instagram, X, Facebook, TikTok, and other emerging platforms, supporting everything from match day coverage to community events and viral trends.
This part-time, seasonal unpaid internship is an onsite role in Leesburg, Virginia from February 2026 through the completion of the season; all candidates must be able to work the duration of this time frame. Selected interns are responsible for personal accommodations such as local housing and transportation for the duration of the internship.
What You’ll Do
- Assist in planning and executing social media content across all club accounts
- Capture and edit photo + video content at training sessions, matches, and events
- Support live matchday coverage (posts, stories, highlights, graphics)
- Brainstorm creative concepts for reels, trends, fan engagement, and player features
- Help track performance metrics and contribute to monthly analytics reports
- Engage with fans and help grow the Loudoun United digital community
- Support content shoots, themed nights, and promotional campaigns
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and current social trends
- Basic photography and video editing skills (Canva, Adobe, CapCut, etc.)
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and matchdays
- Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced sports environment
- Passion for soccer and storytelling
Additional Strengths
- Graphic design experience
- Experience covering live events or sports
- Knowledge of USL
