Based in Leesburg, VA, the club plays its home matches at Segra Field. We are dedicated to delivering a premier fan experience and competitive soccer on the pitch.

Position Summary: Loudoun United FC is seeking a highly organized, dynamic, and experienced professional to serve as the Head of Game Day and Event Operations. This critical leadership role is responsible for overseeing and executing all operational logistics for Loudoun United FC home matches and all non-match special events held at Segra Field, ensuring a safe, efficient, and exceptional experience for fans, teams, staff, and partners.

Key Responsibilities:
Game Day Operations:
  • Serve as the primary lead for all match day operations, managing everything from pre-match setup to post-match breakdown.
  • Develop, implement, and manage detailed game day operational plans, timelines, and checklists for all departments (e.g., security, ticketing, concessions, cleaning, facilities, parking, team operations).
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with all internal departments (Sales, Marketing, Partnership, Technical Staff) and external stakeholders (USL, match officials, vendors, public safety, medical personnel) to ensure seamless execution.
  • Manage and train a large team of part-time, temporary, and volunteer game day staff, establishing clear roles, protocols, and performance standards.
  • Oversee all fan-facing elements of game day, working to continually enhance the overall fan and guest experience.

Event Management:
  • Manage the operational planning and execution for all non-match events, including stadium rentals, concerts, community events, and corporate functions at Segra Field.
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Partnership teams on event design and logistics to fulfill all contractual obligations for partners and clients.
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts for event services, security, catering, and other operational needs.

Safety, Security, and Compliance:
  • Develop and regularly update Emergency Action Plans (EAPs), crowd management strategies, and inclement weather policies in partnership with local public safety officials and facility management.
  • Ensure full compliance with all USL standards, local/state regulations, and stadium policies for safety, security, and accessibility.
  • Act as the facility operations lead on event days, managing incident response and problem-solving in real-time.

Financial and Administrative:
  • Develop and manage the annual Game Day and Event Operations budget, controlling costs and maximizing operational efficiency.
  • Manage the procurement and inventory of all game day operational equipment and supplies.
  • Conduct post-event reconciliation and analysis, providing detailed reports and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in event operations, game day management, or facility operations, preferably within professional sports, stadium/arena, or large-scale event settings.
  • Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate a large, diverse team of staff and volunteers in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with a high level of attention to detail and ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with all levels of staff, executives, public officials, and fans.
  • Proficiency in event management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and budget tracking.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including all home games, which occur on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical ability to perform duties that require standing for extended periods, walking significant distances, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
