Globall Competitions has over 30 years of experience operating elite and recreational sporting events for youth and adult teams, especially soccer tournaments and leagues in the New York region. We pride ourselves on building strong relationships with clubs, delivering high quality event experiences, and growing our footprint year over year. 

We’re now seeking an energetic, highly driven, and detail-oriented Tournament Director to lead our tournament operations and help scale our events.


What You’ll Do
As Tournament Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of tournament planning, execution, and post-event review. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the full end-to-end tournament lifecycle: site selection, logistics, scheduling, staffing, permits, and on-site operations
  • Manage tournament budgets, financials, revenue targets, and cost controls
  • Build and maintain relationships with clubs, teams, vendors, venues, sponsors, and other stakeholders
  • Recruit, train, and supervise tournament staff, volunteers, and contractors
  • Develop and refine tournament structure, rules, format, scheduling, and contingency planning
  • Coordinate marketing, registration, and participant communications before, during, and after events
  • Oversee day-of-event operations, problem-solving, managing issues and ensuring high quality customer service
  • Evaluate tournament performance (participant feedback, financials, KPIs) and implement improvements for future events

Essential Qualifications / Attributes

  • High drive, entrepreneurial mindset, and strong results orientation
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and multitasking skills
  • Strong leadership / people management and communication skills
  • Experience in running sports tournaments, events, or leagues (soccer experience a plus)
  • Comfortable working under pressure, problem-solving in real time
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Ability to travel to event sites as needed
  • Proficiency with software / tools for scheduling, registration, and event management


Desirable

  • Existing network or relationships within youth sports clubs, leagues, venues, or sports marketing
  • Experience in budgeting, P&L responsibility
  • Marketing / communications experience
  • Knowledge of relevant rules/regulations, insurance, risk management
