Overview

The Long Island Rough Riders are seeking an experienced Matchday DJ to support all 2026 home matches (11 total) and two officially approved 2026 FIFA World Cup™ Watch Parties. This role is central to creating a high‑energy, family‑friendly matchday atmosphere while respecting the flow and integrity of a live soccer match.

The ideal candidate has prior live‑event or sports DJ experience, is familiar with soccer, and understands how to use music and sound selectively during stoppages of play to enhance the fan experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute matchday music and sound effects during pre‑match, halftime, post‑match, and approved in‑game stoppage moments
  • Work closely with the Game Day Announcer to provide underlay/background music beneath scheduled, scripted PA announcements
  • Follow the approved run of show, cue sheets, and timing windows
  • Use music and sound intentionally to build energy, entertain fans, and create memorable, family‑friendly moments
  • Read the crowd and adjust music selection based on match flow and atmosphere
  • Support special moments, theme nights, walk‑outs, and community activations
  • Ensure all audio content complies with league, venue, and FIFA watch party guidelines
  • Arrive prepared with organized playlists across multiple genres

Technology & Tools

  • The club utilizes Sports Sounds Pro (SSP), the industry‑standard, Windows‑based audio software for professional sports
  • SSP allows fast, reliable triggering of music, crowd cheers, sound effects, looping cues, and scripted elements for in‑game production
  • Sample music, sound effects, and cue frameworks will be provided; familiarity with SSP or similar sports audio platforms is preferred

Required Qualifications

  • Proven DJ experience in live events (sports or large public events preferred)
  • Understanding of soccer match flow and appropriate music usage during stoppages
  • Ability to play and blend multiple music genres
  • Strong timing, crowd awareness, and ability to perform in a live production environment
  • Reliable, professional, and adaptable under live‑event conditions
  • Availability for evenings and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a matchday DJ, in‑stadium entertainer, or live event audio operator
  • Experience working with a PA announcer or live production team
  • Familiarity with Sports Sounds Pro or similar sports soundboard software
