Internships with the Rough Riders provide hands-on experience in a professional sports setting, offering students and aspiring media professionals the opportunity to gain real-world experience working within live matchday environments.

About the Role

The Audio / PA Announcer Intern will support the matchday experience through in-stadium audio operations and public address (PA) announcing. This role is ideal for students interested in live event production, broadcasting, or sports communications, and offers direct involvement in delivering a professional matchday atmosphere.

What You Will Do

·        Assist with pre-match preparation of scripts, announcements, and sponsor reads 
·        Operate or support in-stadium audio systems during matchdays 
·        Deliver or assist with PA announcements including lineups, substitutions, and key match moments 
·        Coordinate with media, operations, and game-day staff to ensure accurate and timely messaging 
·        Support music selection and audio cues to enhance the matchday environment 
·        Assist with post-match wrap-up announcements and general audio operations 

Qualifications

·        Interest in live event production, broadcasting, or sports communications 
·        Strong interest and knowledge of soccer preferred 
·        Confident verbal communication and clear speaking ability 
·        Strong attention to detail and ability to follow live scripts 
·        Ability to work in a fast-paced, live event environment 
·        Availability for evening and weekend matchdays 

Internship Details

·        Type: Credit-Based Internship (Unpaid). Eligible for academic credit through your college or university (student responsibility to coordinate approval).
·        Duration: Approximately 3–4 months during the summer season
·        Location: Long Island, NY
·        Schedule: Matchdays and occasional preparation sessions
