Who are we hiring?
The Las Vegas Lights FC is seeking a Head Groundskeeper to oversee all aspects of maintaining a professional level playing field at Cashman Field.
What will you do?
· Run the day-to-day maintenance of the pitch at Cashman Field.
· Complete preventive maintenance on various pieces of equipment and ensure all equipment remains in working and operational condition.
· Operations department, and the rest of the organization to fulfill the needs of the Las Vegas Lights FC first team and to deliver a safe, playable, and aesthetically pleasing playing surface.
· Develop a comprehensive field maintenance program that aligns with usage of the facility that includes but is not limited to mowing, fertility, pesticide/herbicide applications, scheduled use of water, etc
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Previous experience operating sports field equipment.
· Previous experience with multiple grass types in transition zones, including Bermudagrass and Ryegrass.
· Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Calendar.
Minimum Education and Qualifications:
· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a turfgrass related field strongly preferred
· 3 years professional experience in turf management is preferred.
· Management experience and working knowledge of turf equipment and athletic field procedures including pre and post-game activities required
Physical Requirements:
· Hours are variable and will include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
· Ability to work in various degrees of outdoor weather conditions, including but not limited to, extreme heat and cold or rain.
· Ability to lift 50 pounds of weight frequently throughout assigned workday.
· Ability to work in various positions, including but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time.
· Must be flexible, adjusting to field and weather conditions. This position requires availability to work all home games which includes holidays, evenings, and weekends.
