Job Description


Lancaster Inferno is seeking a driven and collaborative Social Media Coordinator Intern who is committed to growing their digital presence through its social media and newsletters. The Social Media Coordinator Interns will primarily be responsible for assisting with Lancaster Inferno’s social media accounts and the analytics of each, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok.

This is a paid internship through PA Career Link (if qualified applicant) or an unpaid position in exchange for college credit. 



Duties and Responsibilities


The following responsibilities will be assigned to the social media team based on their knowledge and experience. The job functions will be conducted in a collaborative environment among the media team to ensure a cohesive strategic plan is in place and all content is on brand.

  • Assist in the creation of a Social Media Calendar. 
  • Coordinate Social Media Posts with Other Staff.
  • Give Direction to Graphic Design or Video Production Staff for Projects.
  • Attend team functions, practices and or events for social media (as needed/desired).
  • Attend all home games to offer a strong social media presence (including live updates).
  • Contribute to coverage of all away/road matches during internship (as needed, and in most instances can be done remotely).
  • Pitch content ideas and provide updates on analytics on weekly media team calls.
  • Assist in conducting interviews with Inferno players and coaches.
  • Assist with in-house graphic designer with content generation.
  • Ability to create reels and live content.
  • Ability to come up with creative captions and ideas.
  • Ability to run social media channels and produce engaging content for each platform.
  • Ability to capture and produce both in photo and video formats.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, while executing multiple projects within tight deadlines.
  • Driven, enthusiastic and a creative team player motivated to create high-caliber content.
  • Team-focused: Our digital team succeeds by working as a unit, and that means being willing to cover for others on the team when necessary.
  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications


  • Ability to pass comprehensive background check. Attend and pass SafeSport training.
  • Knowledge and experience using social media accounts and the analytics, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok.
  • Basic knowledge of Canva or Adobe Express, experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently in a multi-faceted, fast, fluid, and deadline-driven environment.
  • Enthusiasm for the team, sports, and women's soccer
  • Spanish language skills are a plus.

About Lancaster Inferno


Founded in 2008, Lancaster Inferno fields a women's pre-professional soccer team that competes in the USL W League. The First Team roster is composed of players who want to pursue their professional aspirations and features current/post college players and former professionals.

Headquartered in Pod 2 on the Campus of Rock Lititz (Lititz, PA), the Inferno is committed to providing a complete pathway from youth to pre-professional soccer. In addition to the pre-professional team, Inferno fields U20/U23 women’s teams during the summer months, and youth travel teams from the U9-U19 age groups year-round (Lancaster Inferno FC). Lancaster Inferno FC is the only all-girls travel soccer club in Pennsylvania that provides a player pathway from youth to pre-professional.
