Job Description


Lancaster Inferno is seeking an upbeat and articulate Public Address (PA) Announcer for their pro-am women’s soccer teams.

This position will add to the overall fan experience by serving as the in-stadium voice for Inferno’s home games.  

This is a part time seasonal position – Must be available for all home games between May-July. A total of 12-14 games, including regular season and potential playoff games. Most games take place on the weekends, but other games may occur during the week.

This is a paid internship for qualified candidates (preferably through PA Career Link). 


Duties and Responsibilities


Act as a public address announcer with the ability to project and enunciate clearly over the microphone in front of a large crowd. Bring enthusiasm and knowledge of the game of soccer.

  • Read all sponsorship verbiage in pre-written script 
  • Display a positive attitude and professional demeanor while representing the Lancaster Inferno
  • Work closely with all game day operators.  
  • Assist in writing announcements if applicable
  • Possibly provide play-by-play announcements during live stream  
  • Assist in press box operations 
  • Announcements include:
    • Lineups (correct pronunciation of names for home/visiting teams)
    • Pre-game activities
    • In-game promotions
    • Scores
    • Extra time
    • Halftime activities 
    • Post-game announcements 



Qualifications


  • Ability to pass comprehensive background check. Attend and pass SafeSport training.
  • Expertise and demonstrated ability with written communications.
  • Previous public address or vocal broadcasting experience.
  • General knowledge and understanding of soccer, including rules, positions, and terminology.
  • Must be able to take direction and adjust quickly in fast-paced situations. 
  • Possess and maintain a current and valid driver’s license and maintain legally required insurance or have reliable transportation to get to work.
  • Proven ability to build respectful working relationships and effectively communicate with others.
  • Spanish language skills are a plus.

About Lancaster Inferno


Founded in 2008, Lancaster Inferno fields a women's pre-professional soccer team that competes in the USL W League. The First Team roster is composed of players who want to pursue their professional aspirations and features current/post college players and former professionals.

Headquartered in Pod 2 on the Campus of Rock Lititz (Lititz, PA), the Inferno is committed to providing a complete pathway from youth to pre-professional soccer. In addition to the pre-professional team, Inferno fields U20/U23 women’s teams during the summer months, and youth travel teams from the U9-U19 age groups year-round (Lancaster Inferno FC). Lancaster Inferno FC is the only all-girls travel soccer club in Pennsylvania that provides a player pathway from youth to pre-professional.
