Lancaster Inferno FC is the only all-girls travel soccer club in Pennsylvania that provides a player pathway from youth to pre-professional. The pathway provides age and stage-appropriate opportunities across these age groups. The purpose of the pathway is to identify and prepare talented players as future senior Lancaster Inferno players, through the delivery of a holistic player centric curriculum.
Position Summary
Lancaster Inferno FC is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable individual to serve as the Goalkeeper Coach for our all-girls soccer club. This is position is designed for someone who is eager to support goalkeeper development within a competitive and values-driven club environment. The Goalkeeper Coach will work as an independent contractor and report directly to the Youth Technical Director.
Primary Responsibilities
Work with directors to:
- Set goalkeeper training schedule in coordination with team practice training schedule
- Suggest ideas for goalkeeper development initiatives (clinics, curriculum, etc)
Manage the Goalkeeper TeamSnap page
- Keep schedule up to date
- Communicate weekly with goalkeepers
Provide input on goalkeeper’s performance to coaches & Youth Technical Director
- Fill out goalkeeper evaluation over the winter (evaluation sheet to share with coaches
Observe goalkeepers in practice session with team (before/after your training session) and/or games (in person or film)
- Provide insights to coaches on the goalkeepers
- Watch game footage clips or attend in person to provide feedback to coaches about goalkeepers (coaches will provide clips)
Ensure the programming model is followed by all age group coaches (how keepers are chosen and utilized at each age as described in the handbook).
Train youth club goalkeepers:
August 11-October 19
- U11-14+ Only
- 2 Hour sessions, 2x per week
October 20-December 18
- U15+ Begins on Oct 20
- 3 Hour sessions, 2x per week
- 1 Hour session, 1x per week (U16-Academy only)
January-February
- U11-Academy
- 1-2 hours 1x per week (schedule TBD)
March 2-June 12
- U11-Academy
- 3 Hour sessions, 2x per week
- 1 Hour session, 1x per week (U16-Academy only)
*Any dates that may be conflicts should be communicated with the head coaches to coordinate make-up sessions.
Qualifications
- Collegiate or high-level club playing and/or coaching experience as a goalkeeper
- Goalkeeping and/or Coaching certification or license (US Soccer Grassroots License at minimum)
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
