Job Description


Lancaster Inferno is seeking a Game Day Operations Intern for their upcoming season which takes place from May-July 2024.

This is a part time seasonal position – Must be available for all home games between May-July. A total of 12-14 games, including regular season and potential playoff games. Most games take place on the weekends, but other games may occur during the week.


This is a paid internship through PA Career Link (if qualified applicant) or an unpaid position in exchange for college credit. 


Duties and Responsibilities


  • Attend All Home Games.
  • Assist in set-up and tear-down of all aspects of the facility on game days.
  • Set-Up and Tear-Down game day ‘box office.’
  • Manage ticket sales to walk-up fans & scan pre-purchased tickets.
  • Track all tickets, coupons, vouchers, and promotions.
  • Distribute game-day programs and handouts (if applicable).
  • Sell Lancaster Inferno merchandise.
  • Balance all income from ticket and merchandise sales at the end of the game for review.
  • Suggest, lead, and/or participate in additional promotional activities to increase ticket sales.
  • Provide a high level of friendly customer service.
  • Assist with pre-match and halftime activities to assure the match starts and resumes at the designated times. 
  • Assist in set-up and tear-down of partner event tables and banners.
  • Work with match day vendors and sponsor activation groups. 
  • Assure compliance with the game timelines and game day information. 
  • Ensure all aspects of the USL W League Minimum Standards for home games are met.
  • Follow the Game Day Timeline provided by the Director of Operations.
  • Act as away team liaison: welcoming away teams to the facility and providing hospitality to visiting referees, coaches, and fans.
  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications


Ability to pass comprehensive background check. Attend and pass SafeSport training.
  • Friendly, customer-driven attitude.
  • Be able to lift at least 50 lbs
  • Flexible and comfortable in a fast-paced working environment
  • Sound knowledge of the United States pre-professional soccer landscape.
  • Enthusiasm for the team, sports, and women's soccer. 
  • Successful prior promotional leadership is highly desired.
  • Spanish language skills are a plus.

About Lancaster Inferno


Founded in 2008, Lancaster Inferno fields a women's pre-professional soccer team that competes in the USL W League. The First Team roster is composed of players who want to pursue their professional aspirations and features current/post college players and former professionals.

Headquartered in Pod 2 on the Campus of Rock Lititz (Lititz, PA), the Inferno is committed to providing a complete pathway from youth to pre-professional soccer. In addition to the pre-professional team, Inferno fields U20/U23 women’s teams during the summer months, and youth travel teams from the U9-U19 age groups year-round (Lancaster Inferno FC). Lancaster Inferno FC is the only all-girls travel soccer club in Pennsylvania that provides a player pathway from youth to pre-professional.
