Position Overview:
Hartford Athletic is seeking a dedicated and passionate Women's Assistant Coach to support our W-League team during the season. This is an excellent opportunity for a high-quality coach to gain valuable experience in a competitive environment while contributing to the development of women's soccer in the Hartford community.
Key Responsibilities
Coaching Support
· Assist the head coach with daily training sessions, match preparation, and tactical implementation
· Support practice planning and execution
· Provide individual player feedback and development guidance
· Help coordinate team logistics and travel arrangements
Technical Analysis
· Create comprehensive film analysis of opponents and team performance
· Prepare scouting reports and tactical breakdowns
· Assist in developing game strategies based on video analysis
· Maintain organized video library and analysis database
Player Recruitment
· Identify and evaluate potential players for current and future seasons
· Attend showcase events, tournaments, and college matches for scouting purposes
· Build relationships with college coaches, club directors, and player agents
· Assist in player communication and recruitment processes
Community Engagement
· Help organize and run youth soccer camps and clinics
· Represent Hartford Athletic at community events and promotional activities
· Support fan engagement initiatives and community outreach programs
· Participate in media obligations as requested
Player Development
· Serve as a mentor and role model for team players
· Provide guidance on professional development and career planning
· Support players' physical, technical, and mental development
· Foster a positive team culture and environment
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree preferred (Sports Science, Kinesiology, or related field advantageous)
· USSF coaching license (minimum C license, higher preferred)
· Previous playing experience at collegiate or professional level
· Demonstrated coaching experience at club, high school, or collegiate level
· Strong understanding of women's soccer development pathways
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with video analysis software
· Background in player recruitment and talent identification
· Experience working with elite female athletes
· Bilingual capabilities (Spanish/English)
· CPR/First Aid certification

· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
· Strong organizational and time management skills
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms
