Hartford Athletic is Connecticut’s professional soccer club competing in the United Soccer League. Position Summary:
The Hartford Athletic Performance/ Video Analysis intern/volunteer will learn and assist onsite the coaching staff to optimize the operational efficiency through data analysis, video analysis and preparation of materials regarding game, training, opposition and individual reports. The Technical Director and Head Coach will oversee and guide intern’s actions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Video Analysis
- Support video capture for Reserve Team training sessions and matches
- Assist with camera setup breakdown and positioning prior to sessions
- Ensure filming meets club standards for angle framing and clarity
- Follow established file naming storage and upload procedures
- Develop understanding of training objectives to anticipate filming needs
Statistical Data Presentation
- Assist in creating video clips focused on tactical and technical situations
- Tag events using approved video analysis software
- Support compilation of statistical data linked to video clips
- Help prepare visual materials for coaching feedback and player development
- Learn workflows for timely delivery of analysis materials
Match Preparation
- Support organization of video and data for match preparation
- Assist with opposition analysis including clip selection and data breakdown
- Contribute to individual player reports highlighting performance trends
- Help format materials for meetings presentations and digital distribution
Club Communication
- Work with coaching performance and technical staff on analysis projects
- Support alignment between Reserve Team First Team and Academy analysis workflows
- Assist with information sharing to ensure consistent reporting standards
Other duties as assigned by the Club
- Provide general support across Soccer Operations as needed
- Assist with matchday analysis preparation and administrative tasks
- Demonstrate professionalism flexibility and a strong willingness to learn
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in business, sports management, data analytics
· 1-2 years experience in data analytics
· Strong understanding of video and analytics systems
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
· Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by match schedules
· Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
· Reliable transportation to Trinity Health Stadium and other assigned locations
