Social Media Coordinator

Ascension St. John Sportsplex | Tulsa, OK - Entry Level
Tulsa , OK
Social Media · Event Marketing · Consumer Marketing/Brand Management
Full-Time | In-Person | Weekend Availability Required
Ascension St. John Sportsplex is looking for a creative, organized, and proactive Social Media Coordinator to manage the day-to-day content creation and execution for our social media platforms. The Sportsplex has something happening almost every day—from tournaments and leagues to camps, training, special events, fitness, community programs, and more. We need someone who can be there to capture those moments and turn them into content that tells the story of what happens inside our facility.

What You'll Do
You'll work with the Community & Marketing Director to plan our content calendar and maintain a consistent weekly posting schedule across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and other relevant platforms. You will own the content process from start to finish, including:
  • Work with the manager to plan weekly and monthly social media content
  • Attend Sportsplex events, tournaments, programs, and activities to capture content
  • Take high-quality photos and videos that showcase the energy, people, and experience of each event
  • Identify the moments that will make compelling social content rather than simply documenting what happened
  • Edit short-form video content using CapCut or Adobe
  • Create Reels, TikToks, photo carousels, Stories, and other social-first content
  • Write engaging, on-brand captions and calls to action
  • Upload and schedule completed content through Meta Business Suite for manager approval
  • Create and post content directly to TikTok
  • Maintain a consistent posting schedule across all social platforms
  • Stay current on social media trends, sounds, formats, and platform best practices
  • Capture enough content at events to build a usable library of photos and videos for future marketing
  • Organize photo and video assets so content can easily be located and reused
  • Help ensure the Sportsplex's social presence accurately represents everything the facility has to offer
  • Monitor content performance and use insights to help determine what we should create more of

What We're Looking For
Required:
  • Strong photography skills
  • Strong eye for composition, storytelling, and capturing candid moments
  • Experience shooting and creating vertical video for social media
  • Proficiency with CapCut or Adobe
  • Working knowledge of Meta Business Suite
  • Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok
  • Ability to create engaging Reels, TikToks, and photo carousels
  • Strong writing skills for social media captions
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Organized and able to manage multiple events and content deadlines
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced sports and event environment
  • Must be available to work weekends, as many of our largest events take place on Saturdays and Sundays
  • Reliable transportation and ability to be on-site at the Sportsplex and scheduled events

The Person We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who naturally sees content opportunities. If you walk into a packed tournament, we don't want to have to give you a shot list for every post. You should be able to recognize the excitement of a close game, parents cheering from the sidelines, athletes celebrating, the scale of the facility, and the small moments that make an event memorable—and know how to turn those moments into a Reel, TikTok, carousel, or Story. This position is ideal for someone who loves social media, sports, photography, videography, and storytelling and wants hands-on experience managing the social presence of a busy, multi-use sports facility.

To Apply
Please submit your resume and examples of previous social media, photography, and/or video work. A portfolio, social media account, or links to Reels/TikToks you've created are highly encouraged.

Bonus: Send us 2–3 examples of social accounts you think do an exceptional job of covering sports, events, or community experiences and briefly tell us what you like about their content.
