Motion Graphics Intern Role Description

Location: Detroit, MI

With an eye towards future growth, DCFC is preparing for a transformative milestone: the opening of a new stadium, AlumniFi Field in 2027. To that end, the club is dedicated to winning matches, promoting the sport of soccer, fostering a diverse and inclusive environment, authentic storytelling, and making our city a safer and more equitable place.

We’re looking for a creative, motivated Motion Graphics Intern to join our Marketing team and help bring the DCFC story to life. You’ll design and animate dynamic visuals for social media, digital campaigns, matchday experiences, merchandise, and more—helping us connect with fans in bold, exciting ways.

-Create engaging motion graphics for digital, print, and live-event platforms  
- Collaborate with the design team to develop animations that reflect DCFC’s identity  
- Maintain and update graphics packages throughout the season  
- Stay current with motion design trends and share fresh ideas  
- Participate in game-night activations and contribute to the matchday

-Currently pursuing a degree in Motion Graphics, Digital Media, Design or a related field  
- Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator)  
- Experience with Blender or Cinema 4D
- A personal reel showcasing your animation work and creative range  
- Passion for storytelling, design, and visual impact  
- A collaborative mindset with openness to feedback  
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment  

This position does not require a valid driver’s license.

This is an unpaid internship.  

This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

 

This job operates in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to exchange ideas and information. This is a somewhat sedentary role; however, some filing is required. The position requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
