Corpus Christi FC is one of the latest expansion teams in USL League One. After several years in the pre-professional ranks, CCFC has stepped into the professional game and strives to give Corpus Christi the professional experience. CCFC aims to put a winning product on the field while creating a positive impact in the community through world-class entertainment, community engagement and educating the youth in soccer. Corpus Christi FC plays home matches on most Saturdays and some Wednesdays from May through October.
Corpus Christi FC is seeking volunteers who are excited and ambitious to learn what goes into a professional soccer game day. Duties would involve communications and/or game day operations.
Key Responsibilities
The Game Day Volunteer will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Serving as an assistant to the Director of Communications or Director of Operations to execute all responsibilities to create a successful match experience for everyone.
- Monitoring matches for key moments and reporting statistics.
- Communicating with the broadcast team and match officials, to create a smooth broadcast experience for viewers around the world.
- Serve as leader in implementing guidelines and enforcing rules for media coverage on the sidelines.
- Work closely with team staff and match officials in reporting accurate statistics and serving as a "runner."
- Building up the team brand by gaining exclusive social media content from the sidelines.
- Coordinating and supporting media availability sessions with players and coaches.
- Organizing and supporting merchandise sales.
- Coordinating and implementing marketing activation during pre-game, half-time and post-game.
- Maintaining professionalism while building relationships with club, technical and facility staff.
Qualifications
- College-aged students or recent graduates with a focus on communications, journalism, marketing or a related field
- Some experience working game day events is preferred but not required.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to focus on the tasks at hand
- Ability to remain calm in fast paced environments
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of professional soccer and the USL preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively and contribute effectively within a team environment
- High level of professionalism and ability to handle confidential information
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not required
- Self-motivated with a desire to learn and get better at a job
- Ability to work under tight deadlines on nights and weekends
- Must be based in or willing to commute to Corpus Christi, Texas;
