COMPANY INFORMATION:   
Corpus Christi FC is a professional soccer organization affiliated with the United Soccer League (USL). The USL Championship and USL League One make up the largest professional men’s soccer league in the United States. Corpus Christi FC is based out of South Texas an untapped soccer hotbed of Texas with thousands of youth players and many thousands more supporting the game at all levels. Corpus Christi FC in partnership with Next Sports Company LLC is developing a 5,000-seat soccer specific-stadium as part of a world class multi-sports facility that will be ready by January 2025 for its inaugural season as a professional team in March 2025.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The communications Coordinator will serve an integral role in positioning the Club’s brand and shaping its media footprint with local and national journalists and publications. The communications Coordinator will assist the Director of Marketing and the Operations Director in leading the Club’s and its partner Next Sports media relations and match day public relations efforts. This position has four major responsibilities: 
  • First, the Communications Coordinator will assist the Communications Team on all media relations efforts, as needed 
  • Second, the Communications Coordinator will Create and edit web pages, forms and other digital assets to support marketing campaigns of the club and its partner Next Sports.
  • Third the Communications Coordinator will support the Communications Team in researching and sourcing accurate and timely statistics for media and external facing content and materials  
  • Fourth, the Communications Coordinator will service media and run point on media operations and logistics on matchday, with a primary focus on credentialed media members attending matches 
The Communications Coordinator will report to the Director of Communications.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Oversee social channels, including building and executing social media content strategy that supports concerts, festivals, events, tournaments and matches
  • Collaborate with the rest of the marketing and brand strategy team to execute engaging content including graphic designers, photographers, videographers and social/ digital team members
  • Cover events in real-time via social media platforms including player initiatives, sponsorship events, community events
  • Create and edit web pages, forms and other digital assets to support marketing campaigns of club and its partner Next Sports
  • Ensure brand consistency across owned digital channels
  • Manage the match day experience for credentialed media members, including parking, stadium entry, press box seating, and communications 
  • Support in the development of storylines, key messages and talking points 
  • Support the research and sourcing of accurate team, player, and league-related statistics 
  • Assist with all game day media responsibilities, for both home and away matches 
  • Assist with pitching media both soccer and non-soccer-specific stories  
  • Identify unique and interesting story angles, and actively pursue media opportunities to expand the profile of the Club and its members 
  • Assist with the coordination and execution of local and national interview requests and provide media training to players and staff prior to every interview
  • Support the Communications team with:
    • All aspects of the Club’s Communications Department as needed 
    • The development of press releases and statements in the best interest of the organization 
    • The setup and execution of media days 
    • Press conferences, team events, and player appearances
REQUIRED COMPETENCY AND QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-year full-time experience supporting Communications and/or Media Relations Departments  
  • Industry Knowledge: Full-time experience supporting collegiate or professional soccer communications and media relations and a knowledge of soccer are strongly preferred  
  • Creativity and Passion: Finding unique storylines that connect the Club with audiences through earned media channels 
  • Research and Statistics: Ability to research and source accurate, relevant, and timely information and statistics  
  • Initiative: Ability to work independently and demonstrate a forward-thinking and creative way of working 
  • Organization: Establishing priorities, defining action, and setting up a workflow to achieve goals while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, multi-task-centric environment 
  • Ability to create and edit web pages, forms and other digital assets to support marketing campaigns of club
  • Interpersonal Relationships: Developing constructive and collaborative relationships with media, players and coaches, and other departments 
  • Digitally Savviness: Experience with Adobe Premiere (or other NLE), Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator a plus 
  • Analysis and Reporting: Ability to monitor media (experience with Meltwater is a plus) and evaluate data and information to influence media plans and solutions while showcasing results  
  • Languages: Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus  
  • Availability: Ability to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, holidays and be on-call as necessary
