Empower Sports and Entertainment and Queen City Sports and Entertainment is looking for versatile and driven interns to assist with the photography for the organization's professional soccer teams: Carolina Ascent FC (Women’s Soccer) and the Charlotte Independence (Men’s Soccer). This position requires some photography experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for learning sports photography.

The organization is looking for an intern who’s self-motivated, takes initiative, has a strong work ethic, is adaptable to an ever-evolving business, has good customer service skills, communicates effectively, is organized, understands time management and task prioritization, energetic, enthusiastic and eager to learn and grow. 

Compensation: This internship is not paid. The organization will assist with meeting requirements for school internship classes. Must be eligible for course credit to participate.

Photography internship possible assignments
  • Capturing photos at training sessions once per week. This includes action shots and aesthetic content for media release and social media.
  • Assisting to complete Gainbridge Super League and USL League One photo requirements on match days in addition to other fan content and game action. Photography assignments will fulfill a variety of needs including ticket packages, advertisement, sponsorship, and social media needs.
  • Providing photo coverage at watch parties and community events.
  • Assisting with capture of media day photos as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Assisting Creative Content Producer in shooting feature stories including behind the scenes, people, and product shots.
  • Assisting Creative Content Producer in collaborating with sponsors on partnership and product photos.
  • Brainstorming weekly content ideas for Carolina Ascent FC and Charlotte Independence social media channels.
  • Continuously helping build a library of content for the 2025 season.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Interns will learn about:
  • Real time game day work flows
  • Adobe Lightroom basics
  • Digital asset management via PhotoShelter
  • Professional league standards and requirements
  • Uses of photo assets across all departments

Work Hours Required:

  • Approximately 20 hours per week. Specific dates and times will be organized with your supervisor. 
  • Game day hours will start as required to execute the event effectively and vary depending on game start times.
