Marketing Communications Intern (Website Email & App) for Charlotte Independence & Carolina Ascent

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation & Storytelling

  • Write and edit engaging game-related stories, feature articles, and promotional copy for the website and email campaigns 
  • Develop compelling headlines and subject lines that drive clicks and engagement 
  • Translate game narratives, player stories, and promotions into fan-friendly content 
Website Management

  • Publish and update content on the website (game previews, recaps, promotions, landing pages) 
  • Ensure content is accurate, up-to-date, and optimized for readability and SEO 
  • Collaborate with design and marketing teams to enhance page layout and user experience 
Email Marketing Execution

  • Assist in building and scheduling email campaigns (newsletters, promos, announcements) 
  • Segment audiences and tailor messaging for different fan groups (season ticket holders, groups, new buyers, etc.) 
  • Monitor email performance metrics (open rates, click-through rates) and suggest improvements 
Content Calendar & Campaign Support

  • Help plan and maintain the content calendar aligned with game schedule and marketing priorities 
  • Coordinate with ticketing, partnerships, and social teams to ensure consistent messaging across channels 
  • Support campaign launches with timely website and email updates 
Ideal Candidate Profile 

  • Strong writing and editing skills 
  • Interest in sports, gaming, or live events 
  • Basic understanding of email marketing and digital content strategy 
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple deadlines 
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms and email tools (bonus, not required)
