Sporting Club Jacksonville is seeking to hire 2-Performance Coach fellows to support our newly formed professional academy. This position is intended for professional development and is focused on furthering knowledge and skills in the field of athletic performance. Additionally, the individuals selected will be able to take an active role assisting our Senior Men's & Women's teams.
The individuals selected for the fellowship will gain hands-on experience within an High-Performance structure through performing a variety of roles with the chance to have a direct impact on professional soccer in Jacksonville. Our collaborative environment is full of learning opportunities and is designed to help all fellows evolve as professionals, challenge their strengths, and reach their fullest potential.
Essential Functions
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities, and be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job. Regular attendance and hours in conformance with the standards is essential to the successful performance of this position. The candidate of choice may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the team needs including working game nights.
● Performs as a developing strength and conditioning coach & sport scientist in the team environment.
● Will assist in team warm-ups, conditioning sessions, cool downs, and weight room sessions with the opportunity to lead if they demonstrate the aptitude to do so.
● Works under the direction and supervision of the Sporting Club Jacksonville Director of Performance & Lead Performance coach
● Assist with morning wellness initiatives
● Assists in the implementation of Sport Science Initiatives
● Assist to maintain professional facilities (keep the weight room clean, organized, etc).
● Performs other duties as assigned or required.
● Some travel may be required.
● Always represents Sporting Club Jacksonville in a professional manner.

● Possess a strong work ethic.
● Must be punctual and accountable every day.
● Must be trustworthy and have a positive attitude.
● Ability to work well within the group environment.
● The ability to remain calm during stressful or complicated situations.
● Willingness to learn from a wide variety of interdisciplinary professionals (medical, equipment, coaches, etc).
● Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Licenses & Certifications
● Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
● First Aid and CPR required.
● EXOS Performance Specialist (XPS) or Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCS) preferred but not required.
● Playing experience preferred but not required
Compensation
● This position has an allotted stipend. Additional work placement opportunities may be available with various camp/training initiatives within the academy.
