Position Overview
Sporting JAX is seeking a high-performing, relationship-driven Group Sales Executive to generate group ticket revenue across all Sporting JAX ticketed events.
The Group Sales Executive is responsible for identifying, prospecting, cultivating, and closing group ticket business across a wide range of target markets, including corporate accounts, youth sports organizations, schools, nonprofits, faith-based groups, military organizations, civic groups, and community partners. This role owns the full sales cycle from first contact through close, fulfillment, and renewal.
This is a selling role. Success is measured in revenue generated, accounts closed, and long-term relationships built throughout Northeast Florida. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic, proven group sales experience, and the ability to build and maintain a high-volume pipeline that delivers consistent results.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Production
- Prospect, cultivate, negotiate, close, and service high-value group accounts across corporate, youth sports, schools, nonprofits, faith-based organizations, military groups, civic organizations, and community partners.
- Build and manage a personal group sales pipeline that consistently delivers against annual revenue goals established by Ticket Sales & Service leadership.
- Develop tailored proposals for each account and move opportunities efficiently through the sales cycle.
- Own each account from first contact through close, game day fulfillment, and renewal.
- Meet or exceed individual group sales targets on a consistent basis.
Prospecting and Business Development
- Identify, research, and pursue new group sales opportunities across all target markets.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key community organizations, youth sports leaders, business groups, schools, and nonprofit organizations throughout Northeast Florida.
- Execute high-volume outbound prospecting activity including phone, email, and in-person outreach.
- Represent Sporting JAX professionally at community events, networking functions, youth sports events, and other assigned activities.
Group Sales Programs and Collaboration
- Contribute ideas for group sales campaigns, theme nights, ticket programs, and community initiatives designed to drive attendance and revenue.
- Collaborate with Ticket Operations to ensure accurate group order processing, seating fulfillment, inventory management, ticket distribution, and fan experience execution.
- Coordinate with Marketing, Community Relations, Corporate Partnerships, Operations, and Game Presentation to support group sales initiatives and matchday experiences.
CRM and Reporting
- Maintain accurate and timely records of all prospecting activity, account communication, proposals, closed sales, and account notes within the CRM.
- Provide pipeline updates and pacing reports to Ticket Sales & Service leadership as requested.
- Track personal performance against established group ticket sales goals and flag obstacles proactively.
Matchday and Event Responsibilities
- Attend all required home matches, group events, sales activations, community appearances, and organizational events.
- Oversee the successful execution of group-related matchday experiences, recognition elements, hospitality programs, and group fulfillment initiatives for your accounts.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of professional experience in ticket sales, group sales, sports business, business development, account management, or a related field preferred.
- Demonstrated track record of generating group ticket revenue and closing new business.
- Strong prospecting skills and comfort with high-volume outbound sales activity.
- Ability to manage a full sales cycle independently from cold outreach through close and renewal.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- High level of professionalism, accountability, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Proficiency with HubSpot, SeatGeek, Project Admission, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar business tools preferred.
- Knowledge of soccer, sports business, live events, ticket sales operations, and the Jacksonville market is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred but not required.
Work Schedule and Expectations
- This is a full-time, in-office position based in Jacksonville, FL.
- Standard business hours are generally Monday through Friday, but the sports and entertainment business requires flexibility based on match schedules, events, sales opportunities, and organizational needs.
- Attendance is required for Sporting JAX home matches, assigned events, sales activations, community appearances, and meetings unless otherwise approved by the Vice President of Ticket Sales & Service.
- Evening, weekend, and holiday work will be required based on the club’s schedule.
