Job Title: Equipment Manager

Job Overview:
Sporting JAX is seeking a dedicated and organized Equipment Manager to oversee all aspects of equipment management for our men's professional soccer team. As the Equipment Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that the players, coaches, and staff have the necessary gear and resources for training, match days, and travel. This is a critical role in supporting our team to perform at the highest level while maintaining a smooth and efficient operational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Management:
Order, maintain, and inventory all soccer equipment, including training gear, match-day kits, balls, cones, goals, and other essential items.
Ensure all player kits (home, away, training) are properly maintained, cleaned, and prepared for games and training sessions.
Set up and break down equipment for daily practices and game days, ensuring readiness and functionality.
Team Logistics:
Manage equipment for home and away matches, ensuring that all items are packed and ready for travel, including kits, training gear, and medical supplies.
Assist with loading/unloading of team equipment for home and away matches.
Coordinate with team operations and technical staff on equipment needs for training sessions, matches, and special events.
Player and Staff Support:
Serve as the point of contact for player gear requests and needs, including fitting and distributing equipment to players.
Work closely with coaching and medical staff to ensure that specialized equipment, such as recovery tools and medical kits, are available when needed.
Maintenance & Repairs:
Regularly inspect and maintain all equipment, repairing or replacing items as needed.
Ensure proper cleaning and upkeep of training and match-day kits, equipment, and facilities.
Inventory and Budget Management:
Track and manage the inventory of all equipment, ensuring there is adequate stock for both teams.
Work within the assigned budget to procure necessary equipment, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maintaining quality.
Collaboration and Communication:
Coordinate with the head coach, team operations, and other staff to anticipate and fulfill equipment needs.
Collaborate with the team’s facilities and operations staff to ensure equipment is properly stored and handled.
Maintain positive relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of necessary equipment.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as an Equipment Manager or in a similar role, preferably in a professional sports environment (soccer experience is a plus).
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proficient in inventory management and budget tracking.
Knowledge of soccer equipment, apparel, and technology.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by match schedules.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with diverse teams of players, coaches, and staff.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to lift and carry heavy equipment as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with both men's and women’s professional teams.
Knowledge of soccer-related technology, such as GPS vests or video analysis equipment.
Experience working with a professional soccer club or similar sports organization.
