Background
Sporting Club Jacksonville (“Sporting JAX”) was founded in 2020 by a local Jacksonville ownership group and named in collaboration with the First Coast community in 2023. The organization is building a men’s professional USL Championship team, a women’s professional USL Super League team, and a USL Youth Academy, with efforts underway to develop a 15,000-capacity stadium and training facilities for Northeast Florida.
Led by entrepreneur Ricky Caplin alongside partners Tim Tebow, and Fred Taylor, Sporting JAX is committed to elevating the community through soccer, opportunity, and equity. We aim to lift trophies and voices while creating exceptional soccer experiences.
Position Overview
Sporting JAX seeks a Director of Integrated Marketing to lead the strategic direction, alignment, and execution of all marketing efforts across the organization. This role is central to driving ticket sales, fan development, partnership activation, merchandising revenue, community engagement, and matchday experience. This leader must excel at managing multiple high-impact projects simultaneously, including revenue-generating digital initiatives, community and event marketing, major campaigns, and fan-growth programs. The Director will architect and execute a unified strategy that leverages digital-first, AI-enhanced marketing, data-driven decision-making, and integrated communications across all fan touchpoints.
This position requires an innovative, collaborative, and high-energy leader with a positive can-do attitude, exceptional project management skills, and a passion for growing the Sporting JAX fan base and brand.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Integrated Marketing Leadership
- Develop and execute an integrated marketing strategy that aligns with the club’s commercial priorities across Ticket Sales, Partnerships, Merchandising, Community, and Matchday Operations.
- Seamlessly manage numerous projects at once, ensuring each contributes to revenue growth, brand awareness, and fan engagement.
- Create consistent and unified messaging, visual identity, and brand execution across all platforms and departments.
Digital, AI, and Performance Marketing
- Lead a revenue-focused digital marketing ecosystem, including paid social, SEO/SEM, CRM automation, email, website experience, and fan acquisition funnels.
- Leverage AI-driven tools for content creation, insights, segmentation, testing, and optimization.
- Plan and execute multi-channel digital advertising campaigns to drive season memberships, group sales, merchandise sales, event attendance, and partner activations.
- Build and monitor dashboards and KPIs to measure campaign performance and marketing ROI.
Fan Development & Community Growth
- Drive fan-base expansion initiatives targeting families, youth, supporters groups, new residents, and underserved communities.
- Lead community event marketing, including budgeting, activation planning, staffing, and data capture.
- Translate community engagement initiatives into scalable fan development pipelines.
Event & Matchday Marketing
- Develop strategies and promotional plans for matchday themes, fan activations, and in-stadium experiences.
- Work cross-functionally to ensure brand consistency and optimal fan engagement at all events and matchdays.
- Oversee pre-match ceremonies, in-match entertainment, and post-match engagement content.
Partnership & Merchandising Support
- Collaborate with Partnership Sales & Activation to align marketing and digital assets with partner objectives.
- Support merchandising campaigns through digital promotion, storytelling, and e-commerce strategy.
Creative & Content Leadership
- Oversee production of high-quality creative and digital content across social, website, broadcast, print, and experiential channels.
- Ensure all creative and brand expressions align with club identity and marketing goals.
- Manage agency partners and internal team members to deliver best-in-class creative work.
Team Leadership & Management
- Lead and mentor a growing marketing team with clarity, positivity, and accountability.
- Manage interns and contractors, providing direction and development opportunities.
- Foster an innovative, solutions-driven team culture.
Operational & Financial Management
- Manage the marketing budget, POs, and reconciliation processes.
- Track KPIs weekly and report actionable insights to leadership.
- Adjust strategies and spending proactively based on performance data.
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide cross-departmental support as needed.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications
Required
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex marketing initiatives simultaneously.
- 4+ years of experience in sports, entertainment, digital media, marketing agency, or related fields.
- 2–4+ years of supervisory experience leading people or managing agency partners.
- Demonstrated success driving revenue-focused marketing programs.
- Strong expertise in digital marketing, social media, CRM, data analytics, and marketing automation.
- Experience using AI-powered tools for content, segmentation, or performance optimization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; strong project and time management.
- Creative and strategic thinker with strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, CRM systems, and marketing automation tools (e.g., HubSpot, Factoreal, Fan Compass).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Passion for soccer and uplifting the local community.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree (required); advanced degree a plus.
- Experience in USL, MLS, NCAA, or other sports & entertainment organizations.
