USL League Two is the premier pre-professional soccer league in the United States and a proven pathway for elite players pursuing the professional game. Featuring more than 100 clubs across the country, the league provides a highly competitive platform for top collegiate and aspiring professional players to develop, gain exposure, and compete at a national level during the summer season.

Position Summary
The Head Coach will lead all aspects of team preparation, player development, and matchday performance for our USL League Two squad. This role is ideal for a leader who wants to operate in a professional environment and maximize a roster that already has a strong returning core.

The Head Coach will also have the ability to bring their own coaching staff.

Key Responsibilities
Training and Match Preparation
  • Design and deliver purposeful, high level training sessions
  • Implement team tactics, style of play, and match strategy
  • Lead all matchday coaching, decision making, and sideline management
  • Prepare pre-match warmups and post match evaluations

Player Development
  • Provide individualized coaching feedback and mentorship
  • Conduct player evaluations and performance tracking
  • Promote professionalism, accountability, and a growth mindset

Scouting and Recruitment
  • Evaluate and supplement the returning roster as needed
  • Build relationships with college programs and player networks
  • Identify players who fit the Diablos culture and style of play

Team Leadership and Environment
  • Set the tone for a professional, competitive, and positive team culture
  • Coordinate with club leadership on roster logistics and season planning
  • Represent the club with professionalism on and off the fieldQualifications


Licensing
  • Preferred licensing is a USSF C License or higher, or an internationally recognized equivalent.

Experience
  • Coaching experience at the collegiate, pre professional, or professional level preferred
  • Strong understanding of modern tactics and player development principles

Skills
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational abilities
  • Ability to manage and develop college aged players
  • Ability to build culture, standards, and accountability within a team

Commitment and Schedule
  • Training sessions 3 to 5 times per week from April through July or August, depending on postseason
  • All home and away matches, including evenings and weekends. 12 regular season matches
  • Preseason planning and post season debrief activities
  • Presence required in Denton for training and matches during the season

Compensation for the Head Coach position will be based on experience and qualifications
