Position Description
U.S. Soccer is seeking a Digital Product Designer to support the growth and transformation of the U.S. Soccer Mobile App. This individual will be a key contributor within U.S. Soccer’s growing product and technology team, responsible for creating user-friendly and engaging app designs for the soccer ecosystem. This role reports to the Director of Product.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the transformative design decisions for the mobile app
- Collaborate with product managers and subject matter experts to gather design requirements for the mobile app
- Understand customer segments, personas, and journeys across the organization, as well as the unique needs within the app
- Ensure adherence to overall U.S. Soccer brand and design guidelines
- Create design specifications and assets that accurately convey design intent to software developers
- Stay up to date on industry-leading design trends and identify opportunities for innovation
- Research accessible design concepts and strive to meet WCAG guidelines
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in UX/UI design
- Strong understanding of digital media including social media, websites, mobile apps, etc.
- Must present a portfolio of work that represents a diverse creative skill set
- Confident using UI design and prototyping tools such as Figma, inVision, etc.
- Ability to understand/follow creative direction and incorporate constructive feedback
- General knowledge of soccer
- Capable of working in fast-paced and demanding environments
- Must be able to connect “micro” details to the “macro” vision and mission
- Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working on sports, entertainment or gaming applications
- Demonstrated strategic hustle and work ethic with diversity of thought
- Experience designing for applications built using React, Typescript, Angular, etc.
- Familiar with project management software such as Asana or JIRA
- Ability to handle multiple projects, tasks, and priorities
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Bilingual (English and Spanish, preferred)
- Strong problem-solving capabilities to address and resolve issues that face a growing company
