Position Description
The Manager, Sporting Analytics (YNT/ENT) is responsible for aligning and strengthening standards and operating systems for performance analysis across all Youth and Extended National Teams. This role oversees the integration of video analysis and tactical insights to optimize efficiency, drive performance and player development across YNT and ENT environments, while ensuring collaboration and a transdisciplinary approach with our technical teams and Sporting departments.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage continuous development of our YNT and ENT performance analysis staff, conducting performance evaluations and foster a cohesive team environment in coordination with the Director, Sporting Analytics.
- Monitor and drive standards in our performance-analysis workflows across training, match preparation, live support, post-match review, individual player support and player-monitoring process.
- Transform data into actionable insights that deepen understanding of our game model, playing identity, and playing pool supporting both short-term decision-making and long-term development objectives.
- Provide objective, evidence-based evaluations of team and player performance during and between national team camps to inform technical discussions and development strategies.
- Conduct and oversee research projects that advance best practices in technical development, talent identification, and performance analysis at both the domestic and international levels.
- Engage with global experts across clubs, federations, and industry organizations to benchmark best practices and integrate innovative methodologies into the federation’s YNT and ENT development framework.
- Evaluate new technologies to expand the federation’s capabilities in performance insights and to support coaches and staff with enhanced contextual understanding.
- Define and standardize analysis roles, expectations, and development pathways for analysts across the network to ensure consistent coverage and quality throughout YNT and ENT programming.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Performance Analysis, Sport Science, Sport Management or equivalent area of study
- Proven experience in performance analysis and data analytics within elite sport.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of soccer and the overall landscape in the U.S.
- Mentoring experience, with a track record of guiding staff development.
- Expertise in working with various performance analysis hardware and software (specifically Hudl Platforms & Keynote)
- Expertise in data integration, video analysis platforms, and tactical insight generation.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into actionable insights.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with transdisciplinary teams in high-performance environments.
- Capable of working in fast-paced and demanding environments.
- Exceptional time management skills and ability to prioritize workflow.
- Must be able to connect “micro” details to the “macro” vision and mission.
- Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communication combined with a professional demeanor.
- Able and willing to travel up to 50% of the year.
- Able and willing to work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends as needed.

- Strong verbal, written, in-person and presentation communication skill.
- Excellent organizational, planning and leadership skills.
- Coaching and/or playing experience preferred.
- Bilingual (English, Spanish, or other).
- Thorough institutional knowledge of U.S. Soccer’s mission, goals, technical plan, policies, practices, and procedures.
- Previous experience with a club or national team.
