Position Description
U.S. Soccer is seeking an experienced video editor to join our post-production team. The Coordinator, Post-Production will be responsible for all aspects of video editing, the post-production process and final delivery of content.
This role will edit and craft videos to tell the story of soccer in all forms. This includes highlighting the Federation’s work in service to soccer, our members (referees, coaches, member orgs, etc.) and ultimately the best of us - our athletes, from our Senior National Teams to Extended National Teams.
The Coordinator, Post-Production will work closely with the MNT, WNT and Federation video teams on various projects, ranging from promotional to long-form videos, designed to deepen fan engagement, serve our members, grow reach, increase relevancy and drive revenue. This role will also collaborate with other departments like Matchday Marketing and Insiders on video projects and assets needed for objectives.
In addition to storytelling, this role will produce video content to support the Federation’s commercial efforts: growing Insiders, driving ticket sales, supporting kit launches, working with U.S. Soccer’s partners, etc.
This role will be required to work nights, weekends and holidays when needed due to game schedules.
Primary Responsibilities
- Produce and edit video content across U.S. Soccer digital platforms, including color grading, audio mixing and final delivery of video content.
- Manage short-term and long-term projects, meeting deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
- Deliver high quality visual stories of varying lengths and aspect ratios, optimized for platforms and audiences.
- Circulate videos to relevant stakeholders in approval process and make edits as needed.
- Ensure all video content aligns with U.S. Soccer’s branding and creative, visual identity.
- Deliver content to different CMS for owned (web, app) and operated (YouTube) platforms, including encoding and formatting content to fit various distribution channels, and metadata tagging.
- Maintain an organized digital video library, ensuring quick access to assets as needed.
- Perform technical tasks such as video compression and file format conversions as required for different platforms.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices in video production, and emerging technology to keep U.S. Soccer at the forefront of innovation.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in video editing, including experience producing
- Proven ability to execute a project from pre-production through post-production
- Ability to manage and prioritize both short and long-term projects
- Capable of focusing and performing in fast-paced and high-pressure settings
- Understanding of industry trends and ways to engage an audience through video content
- Effective and quick decision making in a dynamic environment
- Expertise in editing software, specifically Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects
- Strong understanding of video codecs, file formats and delivery specifications for digital and social platforms
- Experience with on-prem, cloud and hybrid media storage and file management solutions
- Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
- General knowledge of soccer
- Must be able to connect “micro” details to the “macro” vision and mission
- Able and willing to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Desired Qualifications
- Spanish speaking is a plus.
- Experience in news and media is a plus.
- Familiarity with publishing in a CMS.
- Knowledge of video best practices for platforms, specifically including social media platforms.
- Understanding of AP style and soccer terminology
